Has anyone else read the NBA Player X articles from ESPN Mag? He suggested a month or so ago that many NBA players would head overseas and that some recognizable names might not come back. Also that the end result of players spending a year overseas might raise the level of play longterm in the league.

KFC offers temp lockout job to D-Wade. Apparently he used to work there back in the day.

Some people try to make a big deal of the differnece between a lockout (by the owners) and a strike (by the players). I'm missing the distinction. In either case, the employees are refusing to work under the conditions proposed by their employers (the owners).
So when this guy: http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/s...ment-relations wonders why the public sides with the owners over the players, when it may be technically called a lockout and not a strike, I think the answer is obvious. The public doesn't care about the legal niceties of what may constitute a lockout and simply sees the players refusing to play a game for millions of dollars. The majority of the public are capitalists and employees and they understand that you can either take the job and salary that is offered, or you find a different job. They see the players refusing to play a fun game for millions of dollars because they want even more. The public sees the owners as rich, but the players as greedy. It makes perfect sense to be as you have most owners making significantly less per year on the deal than a mid level player is making.Comment
