How do the Lakers have two PGs that probably wouldn't play for any other team in the NBA? Steve Blake still looks like the guy with the H-I virus that Portland couldn't wait to get rid of, and he plays? He is probably the worst player on a playoff roster.

I just finished watching the Dallas-Lakers game and I enjoyed it immensely. Mavs proving they can play defense in these playoffs. Even more impressive is that they've continued to win on the road, something they've never been able to do in the playoffs. To be honest, that first link you provided opened my eyes. I think I had pretty much just never noticed Kerr at all as a broadcaster, other than him doing the BYU/SDSU game. Why am I only just now realizing that the Lakers don't have a back-up big? Lamar should be spending his time at the 3 and 4. instead, he's almost exclusively the packup to both Pau and Bynum.
Odom was bad last night. But the problem with this team isn't him, or Kobe, Or Pau, or Bynum. It is everybody else. They all stink. Odom should be subbing in for Artest 5 minutes into the game. Nobody can guard that lineup. And Peja on Odom? Please.
Jackson was making some strange coaching decisions. Going with a 3 guard lineup, including Fisher and Blake, neither of whom can shoot or defend? Why? Barnes is a fool, but at least he can defend, hustle and make a few shots.
Anyway, if DDD's wet dream comes true and the Lakers could get Howard without giving up both bigs, the Lakers will continue their dominance. If not, they still may be able to do it merely by adding 2 decent players...a guard to replace Fisher and a big.
If they are going to "blow it up" next year and can't get Howard, then I'd trade Kobe before I traded both bigs. But that wouldn't happen.Comment

After LA lost the first game in this series, during an interview Kobe said that it gave the Lakers some momentum. Because when you lose then you have your back against the wall and come out and play harder.
So I'm chalking up last night's game to simply Kobe thinking that the Lakers need more momentum than one loss can provide.
The Lakers will probably blow out the Mav's in the next one.
Unless they need a little more momentum first. Then the Mav's will win again.Comment
