Orlando is crazy if they don't demand Bynum and Gasol or Bynum and Lamar and also demand that LA take back Arenas' contract as well. LA would (and should) still take that deal.

Well, given that teams cannot discount existing contracts and given that the Magic don't want to eventually lose Howard for absolutely nothing in return and given that Dwight will basically demand a trade to LA, Bynum seems like a pretty good option now, doesn't it?

I think Jax is a lock to come back with Dwight in the fold.

I also like what Miami has been doing to Boston. Boston looks like LA next year without some changes. Watching that Mitch and co. have to be looking to mix things up.

Pau and Bynum are not the problem for the Lakers (when Bynum is healthy). 2 of their starters (Fish and Artest) shoot 39% from the field and play almost 30 mpg.

The fretting over the matchup problems the Lakers have vs Dirk are overblown, IMHO. Every team in the league has a matchup problem with Dirk. But Pau and Bynum give every team in the league matchup problems too. Chandler may be one of the few guys who can actually guard Pau though, so that hurts. Still, I think the Lakers need to stick with their bigs. Dirk had a failry typical game for Dirk in game 1. The world is not ending.

I'm a little worried about the second player in that deal. Obviously Bynum goes. Do you give up Bynum and Lamar?

Every playoff series involving the Lakers the comments continually are about Odom and the matchup problem that he presents. His length and athleticism seem to be what every team covets and I think at this point in his career you don't give up a piece like that. Someone will want him past his prime <cough Jazz cough> but I wouldn't trade him if I were in the LA front office. Bynum and Caracter maybe or one of the old guys (not even sure if they're under contract next year) like Joseph Smith or Ratliff but not Odom.
