Man, what a game! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. That was awesome! Great result.

a 0-0, 1-1 or any type of win for RSL will give them the championship. Bring it home boys!

Will altitude be that big of a deal? I know Monterrey is only at 1700 feet or so, but they play enough games at altitude (Mexico City, Guadalajara) that it shouldn't be an issue....

Maybe not, but I'd like to think that higher altitude and cold weather would be a tough combination. I'll do my part and get a tee time in the late afternoon so as to increase the odds of snowfall and strong, cold winds from the north.

No kidding. I'm still in SoCal and didn't think I would be able to watch. Fortunately one of the Spanish channels had the game. The only words I understood were "salt", "lake", and "goooooooooooooal but it was exciting none the less.

That was a great game! I'm not a huge soccer fan, but really enjoy RSL and watching during the World Cup.

              Random thoughts on the game:
              • The commentators on the FSC telecast, both Americans, couldn't figure out if they wanted to be Euro-weenies or Americans. Sometimes they said "pitch" and sometimes "field". Sometimes they said "pace" and sometimes "speed". I also heard both "equaliser" and "tying goal". It just seemed like they had an identity crisis.
              • Like MBN, I too wondered who had been playing American Football on that field.
              • How badly will losing Beckerman hurt the team next Wednesday?

Will it be shown live on TV in the SLC market?

                  Any STHs here?

I'd like to pick up a few tickets for the game next week.

I think tickets are open to the general public now.

I was really disappointed when I turned on the radio on the way to work and heard them talking about Real Salt Lake. That is time that could be used talking about a real sport like baseball.

soccer is boring to watch, but it doesnt come close to the level of watching baseball.

I still have memories of you trashing all the soccer posts on CB in 2006. Your favorite was the euro kickey ball thing. You also had that sig pic of a redneck mocking dook. I still laugh every time I think of it.
