Caught between a rock and a hard place. The attention is great and certainly this non-arrogant, over achieving, humble kid presents a great image countering the "cult" image some like to lay on us.

However, some probably struggle with the internal image or the one within the church. Non-arrogant, successful, seemingly good person who chose not to go on a mission.

He took so much shit from MW and company on CG that I think he soured on non-CB websites. I still laugh when I think that MW believes he could take Jimmer.

Prof was frustrated that Jimmer was not getting more PT during his freshman season and was not afraid to speak his mind on the subject 4 years ago....hindsight being 20-20 he was definitely right.

Bottom line, if I'm a coach and playing BYU, the first thing I tell all my players is that talking to or about Jimmer in anything but the most friendly way will get you benched. I would stand there in pre-game banging a piece of chalk on the #32 written on the chalk-board screaming "You don't say shit to this kid except. 'Nice move, nice shot, let me help you up, sorry about that.' If you say anything to him or about him we run the risk of him going all Arizona or UNLV on us. Remember when the idiot from SDSU said he was embarrassed that someone named Jimmer Fredette lit them up for ___ points? Now he thinks part of his job description is to double that output against them every. single. game. You don't say SHIT to this kid!"

My favorite thing about this thread: None of the comments (at least none that I read, and I spent a solid 40 minutes reading through them) are overtly angry, profane, unintelligent or mean. Instead, they're hilarious. They combine Chuck Norris jokes with obscure bits of Jimmer-appropriated scripture. I suppose this is what happens when you mix the intelligent sarcasm of your average college student with the religious knowledge you'd expect from kids at a devotional school like Brigham Young.

All in all, it adds up to some good-natured, harmless, uproarious fun. That thread might be the best thing I've read this season. And the message is simple: Do not besmirch the name of thy Jimmer in Provo, at least if your Facebook wall is accessible to everyone with an account. Because that Facebook wall will get Jimmered. Hard.
