Fernandez dunk was nice, but after 10 attempts it loses its luster.
is this accurate? most of the "free throw line" dunks are usually just past the free throw line, as opposed to just short of it.

I noticed when they were showing the dominque/jordan dunk-off yesterday, Jordan was past the free throw line when he jumped.

Jordan never dunked on a 12 foot rim with room to spare.

on the famous one, his foot was well on the line.

i am trying to think of a free throw line dunk that was actually legit....as in, they did not step on or in front of the FT line?

Dr J's dunk was similar to Jordan's.

How did the AS game turn out. One negative about the in-laws here is that they don't have any TV. I saw clips of the dunk contest online, how did the h-o-r-s-e thing go?

Wow. In the past 25 minutes, I have seen Shaq do two crossover dribbles (one kicked out of bounds), a no-look windmill pass, an in-the-air pass that turned out to be an assist to CP3, and a bounce pass give and go between the legs of Dwight Howard which resulted in a dunk. If Shaq can somehow manage to nail a 3, I honestly think he should get the game MVP.

DIdn't Lebron just take three full steps after picking up his dribb;le? The announcers said "WHat beautfiul footwork"; sure, if you can take 3 steps it makes it easier!

Shaq will end up a Laker before he retires. They're setting the stage right now. David Stern has no shame.

As Stern once said, the ideal Finals....the Lakers vs the Lakers!

Shaq will not be back with the Lakers as long as Kobe is there. Not even for the veteran's minimum. It would be too distracting with no real benefit.

You are somewhat correct, however. All of this has been playing out locally over the past year. Shaq wants his number retired with the Lakers but as of right now, he is on the outs with Dr Buss for the way he blasted the franchise and the city when he went to Miami. After a few years of playing in the American Airlines Arena, I guess Shaq realized that he would rather have his jersey hanging next to Kareem, Worthy, Magic, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Gail Goodrich and Jerry West....as opposed to....well.....nobody from the Heat. So Shaq has gone out of his way to play nice with the Lakers.

The Heat have two retired jerseys hanging. Dan Marino and Michael Jordan. What a joke.

Shaq and Kobe Co-MVP's? I thought that Kobe showcased his all-around scoring, but I would give Shaq the hardware. Shaq was far more entertaining. Cross-over dribbles, no-look full court outlet, no-look over the shoulder passes in the post, went 5 hole on Dwight then blew past him for the dunk. All this when he has widely been considered a washed-up fat ass!The man played in his 15th, and likely his last, AS game. Kobe did showcase his skills, to the tune of better numbers, but give Shaq his last chance to shine.

Shaq should have got it. But they have been hyping up this story since the coaches selected Shaq to the AS team. But really it couldn't have ended any other way.

Shaq was the feel good story of the AS weekend though. I will agree with you that CP3's game is suited for the free-flowing format of an AS game more so than any other. His handles are top notch.

I was just commenting that Shaq could have his jersey retired by the Heat and that his won't be the first in their rafters. It's a little known fact that the Miami Heat have retired two jerseys already.

I will guarantee that the Heat retire Shaq's jersey and probably do it before the Lakers do.
