    NBA All-Star Game

I have been stricken with whatever this horrible cold/flu virus is....so looks like I am spending the day sacked out and resting and drinking fluids. I feel lousy.

Is anyone else watching the A.S. Game? Normally I would not but there is nothing else on.

I have enjoyed a lot of these new TMO commercials....esp the one with Yao and Charles and the live shrimp. The Dwight Howard video game one was good, too.

Nothing else on? There is always something worth watching on MLBTV. A documentary of the Negro League will be on when the NBA All-Star crap is happening tonight.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I'm recording the 3-point and dunk contests tonight. I like just skipping quickly through that stuff and watching the interesting parts.

I usually watch. I think it's the best all-star game/weekend of all the major sports. The baseball game sucks, but you're pulled into it because of the home field factor. The Pro-Bowl is an after thought. Do people in the USA watch hockey?

I am looking forward to Shaq and Kobe. I like watching the dunk and 3 point contest.

HORSE was an abomination. there were a few fun shots, but it was more of a showcase of how these millionaires can't hit a lot of open shots. It was also boring. hopefully we have seen the last of that. Also, they technically didn;t play "HORSE," but played "GEICO." very lame.

There was a cool show called "Theater of the Dunk" or something like that. One hour special on the history of the dunk contest. that was fun.

Yeah I liked that show about the dunk. Vince Carter was ridiculous.

The Horse contest sucked. I don't think it will be around again.

I think HORSE has potential with a few changes. First of all, the referee needs to go. He completely ruined any possible flow the match might have had. We've all managed to play ref-less HORSE for decades without any problem, so there's no reason to involve a ref now.

Second, Ernie needs to be up in the booth with the other two guys. I love EJ and what he brings to "Inside the NBA," but he brought absolutely nothing to the table being down on the court with the players.

Third, move it inside. Basketball is played indoors, and 9 times out of 10 it is unsuccessful when you try to bring it outdoors. In this instance, the sunlight made for limited camera angles and, thus, poor television. Bring it indoors, and keep the bleachers at half court if you want.

Fourth, bring back some retired NBA legends to play against current players. No self-respecting NBA player would want to lose to a retired player, and you know the retired player would give it his all.

                Those are great ideas.

They need to change the dunk format too. I hate the timed thing.

Not the best dunk contest, as far as dunks go, but it was entertaining. I hope it goes to Nate Robinson. I don't care much for the gimmicks, but the kryptonite angle was very clever.

Did Lebron say he was in it for 2010? Or did he just want to challenge the winner?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

He said he's putting in his name for the 2010 contest at Dallas Stadium.

He officially put his name up for nomination for the 2010 dunk contest.

LeBron James just couldn't stand not having the spotlight on him for 5 minutes, so he said that he will be in the dunk contest next year. I don't see him actually being in it.

Fernandez had the best dunk of the night, but it got one of the lowest scores. I don't exactly blame the judges though because it took him over 2 minutes to actually make the dunk.

That would be a good point if he hadn't already been able to stand not having the spotlight on him for the last 5 dunk contests.
