Matt Cain is so calm all the time. He was great again tonight. I sent Filsdepac a text and called it from the 2nd batter you could just tell very early that he was locked in. They need a solid effort out of Dirty on Saturday night.

That was a good call, I think you said 8 innings and he went 7 and 2/3.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostMatt Cain is so calm all the time. He was great again tonight. We were treated to two games last night. The first was a tense, well-played seven inning contest. Excellent pitching and defense on both sides, with the Giants coming up with a couple of clutch hits and a little luck (thank you, fence top!).
The second game, a two inning laugher, was enjoyable as Texas sent out various random fans in Rangers uniforms, just for fun, to see if they could throw strikes in a big league ball park. They couldn't. Anytime you walk Juan Freakin' Uribe (praises be unto him), you know you're wild. I thought Nolan Ryan's head was going to explode.

I loved all the shots of Jon Daniels (the Rangers GM) and Nolan Ryan they looked furious.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostWe were treated to two games last night. Yes, on their bats - they've been hot for the playoffs. The Giants' arms have been great all year and they've been the best in all of baseball since mid-August.Originally posted by Surfah View PostTough to say what has been more impressive, their bats or their pitching. The Giants just got red hot at the right time.

Yeah that stat they showed of their batting is sick. .200 something with nobody on base. .300 something with runners on. .400 something with runners in scoring position. That is insane.Originally posted by 8BR View PostYes, on their bats - they've been hot for the playoffs.
