Don't worry it hurts being a Dodger fan right now. The Giants are at their peak this is as good as it gets. The Dodgers are in absolute shambles their up and coming star players shit the bed this year, they have no pitching, the farm system is depleted and the owners are in a nasty divorce.Originally posted by filsdepac View PostThat's right outside my door, thanks.
That is why you get celebration smack. We all grasp at straws when things like this happen.*Banned*

I should tell you all that I have a Giants pin in my wallet that I picked up on an especially frigid Candlestick night in '89. Those games used to get so cold that if you stayed for the whole thing you got this little pin with the Giants logo covered in icicles that said "Veni Vidi Vixi." That thing has been in my wallet (well, it's outlasted several wallets at this point) for 21 years -- I kind of consider it a good luck charm. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I'd call it a proper celebration. In most towns a championship is just an excuse to burn some cars and break windows downtown.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostThat is why you get celebration smack. Tonight's my birthday. Happy birthday to all Giants fans!
I won't lie; I teared up when it was all over. I loved the Series and this team - the pitching was so great. The emotions were not drawn up from this game or the World Title. It was pulled from thinking about all the great Giants memories with by sister, brothers, cousins, kids and especially...my dad. Enjoy it Pops!
GO GIANTS!

Congrats to the Giants. I'm not surprised that they won the World Series. There is one thing for sure for the MLB playoffs and that is a team catch fire and win despite not being the best team in baseball. The Rangers caught fire and beat 2 superior teams, but ran out of gas. I actually think the Giants were the better team in the World Series, so this shouldn't be considered an upset.
The Giants were a mid-level playoff team that got hot and rode some insanely good pitching. They had all their starters just playing out of their minds. Somewhat similar to the Cardinals in 2006, but the Giants are a respectable team and a worthy champion (unlike the Cardinals).
You want to talk luck in the MLB playoffs, look no further than Edgar Renteria. A below average player his entire career (with the exception of 4 seasons), who had frankly sucked the past 3 years. He gets hot for 4 games and gets the World Series MVP. It is unreal how this stuff happens in MLB.

It's madness in the city right now, even the cops and firefighters are driving by, honking horns. Greatest sports night of my life
I'd settle for chicken pox. Swine flu leaves no scars.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostNot really. Dodger fans have celebrated championships.
I hate the giants but they deserved this one. Where was the damned earthquake when we really needed it this time?
Truthfully, i am just happy that bonds didn't win. In fact, I'm am extra happy knowing that he also has to watch the celebrations from the stands. While dodgers and giants fans are supposed to hate each other, this current giants squad is a group of work a day Joe six packs. There are no real odious personalities. So as far as hate goes, it is a very mild hate. For example, rather than hoping for a gonorrhea outbreak in the giants clubhouse, I would be fine if it were something curable, like swine flu."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. It pains me to say this, congrats to the Giants and their fans on this board.
I may be small, but I'm slow.

It is good the giants finished this one off in short order. Now Dallas sports radio can get back to 24x7 griping about the cowboys. There has been so much stuff about the world series on lately that I have almost stopped listening.
Congrates to the Giants! May theriotingpartying continue for the rest of the month."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
