Yes, there might have been a crime, but it seems strange Kaepernick is mentioned as the one being investigated, given that she had a sexual relationship with him and everything she did to the point of her having blacked out was consensual. It's possible Kap set her up so his friends could take advantage of her, but I'm skeptical. NFL stars don't lack for sexual volunteers, so why this?

What the police did not confirm was a report by TMZ Sports that Kaepernick was being investigated for a possible sexual assault. Aldon Smith is an idiot. A lot like Kaep, why put yourself anywhere remotely near where you could get into trouble when you've got such a large contract looming. I was not happy that they let him play last year after his arrest. Honestly, I hope he gets suspended to start the year for at a minimum 4 games. The most discouraging thing is he supposedly went into rehab after his incident last year, and had his life in order. The report I read stated that he was also drunk, which would mean falling back into things that got him into trouble before. Not looking like he learned his lesson, which is too bad, because defensively, SF is a better team with him playing. But if you can't trust a guy off the field, it's hard to trust him on it.
