I don't think I can take another game with David Akers. If a field goal attempt is over 40 yards and a 4th down attempt is 5 yards or less, the Niners need to go for it.
And the only reason why the Niners even need to show up today is because of David effing Akers' shitty field goal kicking against the Rams.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Akers missed another one -- a 40 yard attempt. 45 and under should be automatic for an NFL kicker. I think they need to replace him with anyone that is available at this point, he's going to cost them a playoff game.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI don't think I can take another game with David Akers. Yeah it's staggering - I wonder what happens in the head of a guy like Akers. He's been automatic for a decade and suddenly loses his mojo and can't get it back. I feel bad for the guy. But I think you're right - the Niners have given him enough time to get his game back and it's not there.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī
It can't all be wedding cake.

Remember back when Hsaru was saying how much more talented SF's WR and RB corps were than Denver's? That was funny.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

FTR, I never said that, in fact I said that Thomas would have been a draw for Manning compared to SF's recievers. I do think SF's running backs are much better. With that said, Crabtree is developing into a legit #1 receiver to my pleasant surprise.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostRemember back when Hsaru was saying how much more talented SF's WR and RB corps were than Denver's? Knowshow Moreno as your feature back and not much behind him makes that gap wider. Denver's tight ends aren't worth much but Manning makes them look better. But Demaryous Thomas may be one of the top 5 receivers in the NFL. A top 5 receiver makes the #2 receiver look a lot better when the star is drawing the safeties, just ask John Taylor, Alvin Harper and Nate Burleson.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostFTR, I never said you said that. Manning surveyed the situation and saw how terrible the AFC West was outside of Denver and also how unproductive the San Francisco WR corps was in the NFC Championship. Also, John Fox presented a situation in Denver that is similar to how it was for him in Indy -- basically Manning can do what he wants with the offense. He wasn't going to have that freedom with Jim Harbaugh. Truth be told, San Francisco would have been just as good of a choice --they're 11-4-1 without him and Manning would have been worth more than a game and a half in the standings. But another clincher for Manning was the money offered by Denver.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Gore and McGahee were essentially a push in their per-game and per-carry production this year, which was where the gap narrowed. And Knowshow actually turned out to be a productive back when McGahee went down.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostKnowshow Moreno as your feature back and not much behind him makes that gap wider. Kap throws a pick 6 to start the game. Let's see if he can regain his composure and rally. He's done remarkably well for a young QB, but the playoffs are a different animal."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

14-14 midway through the second. Packers lead in stupid mistakes 2-1 with an A-Rod pick just now."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Kapernick bouncing back nicely. The kid is a talent for sure.
Meanwhile, nice to see Crabtree decide he wants to be an NFL receiver this year."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Despite only having a one touchdown lead, things have gone well for the Niners. Their defense has hardly seen the field while Green Bay's already been on for about 40 snaps.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Things are getting chippy and right now the 49ers are doing some stupid things. Kapernick gets a taunting penalty and now a late hit. Can't give Green Bay any breaks when things are going so well for you.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostDespite only having a one touchdown lead, things have gone well for the Niners.
