Arguing with Surfah re: Kobe is pointless.

Kobe could be 50 and trying to make a Jordan-esque comeback and Surfah would still claim he's the best player in the league by far.

It's only pointless because you're championing Kevin Durrant to dethrone Kobe. You're not suave enough to pull off that argument. Nobody is. Now throw in someone like LeBron or Duncan and you can have a worthwhile conversation. Don't get me wrong either, Kevin Durrant is a nice player. He's a lot of fun to watch and I like the kid (any kid that makes it out of DC/PG Co. has a special place in my heart). But c'mon you don't even believe KD is better than KB.

Nash is insane. 35 years old and having a career year. This has to be one of the best seasons ever for a player his age.

Zach Randolph is playing like a mad man. It seems that he might have finally matured and has found a home in Memphis. Rudy Gay is a superb athlete. They have a great core of young players. Gasol Light has surprised me. If they can keep in intact I see Memphis being a playoff team on a consistent basis.

Agreed. That trade for Pau doesn't look so lopsided anymore. Marc is a pretty dang good ball player and is a bigger body than older bro. And Randolph has been sick. I like that team quite a bit. The Lakers begin their brutal road trip tomorrow at Orlando. They finish with a back to back in Boston and then Memphis. That Memphis game is no gimme anymore. The Lakers will be fortunate to finish .500 after this trip.

If Memphis is the biggest surprise so far, Charlotte has got to be number 2. They beat Miami by 39 tonight and are in the 5th spot in the East.

Brandon Jennings sure has dropped off. He has just two 20 points outings in the last 4-5 weeks and is now shooting a woeful 38% from the floor.

In Nov. he averaged 22.1 ppg on 42%, next month 16.7 on 37.6%, and this past month 14.2 on 32.4%.

What will this month bring? His two-game start is not pretty.
