Anytime Al is in the court, I expect the Jazz to be below-average defensively. Favors can only do so much. It is surprising that it's THAT bad, though.

I wonder how many of those minutes over those two games were played with Mo and Foye as the guards? That's three poor defenders (Mo, Foye, Al) on the floor at once, along with one average defender (Millsap) playing out of position, defensively speaking.

I was wondering about Foye playing SG there as well. He has been abused on the block in several games. And the maddening part on that is many of those minutes he's on the court with Hayward, and the guy Hayward is guarding is less of an offensive threat, yet Corbin chose to keep Foye on the better offensive player. On 82games it looks like the big 3 lineup has been on the court just a bit more with Mo/Hayward than it has with Mo/Foye.

I've been surprised by how much Millsap has struggled to stay with SFs or stretch 4's on the perimeter. I understand him having a rough time staying in front of them, but his closeouts and following guys off screens has been horrible. Favors made Bargnani look bad for a huge stretch in Toronto, but that is the kind of player that is killing Millsap right now.

      • Favors erased Bargnani.

He didn't do a thing after Favors was on him.

        • I'm getting excited to attend the game of the century tomorrow night: Jazz v. Wizards! I'm hoping to get a look at newly signed Shaun Livingston. It will be nice to finally see the Vesely/Seraphin combo in person.

Looks like seats are available on stubhub starting at $3.70. I'm no sucker, though; prices will drop before tip off.

          • If you take Foye out of consideration I'm sure those offensive numbers would drop quite a bit. The sample of minutes is tiny and the offensive numbers in those moments is due in large part to at least one -- and maybe two -- scoring outbursts from him.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

            • Locke tweeted that Favors has made 23 out of his last 28 FTs. Great sign.

              • Foye has looked just as terrible as Big Al on defense. The Paul Piece layup was a joke, backed down in the post and then Foye gave up.

                • This teams defense is trash with Favors on the bench, ugh. When will the fucking idiot Ty get a damn clue.

                  • So.. they start the 2nd and 4th quarters on massive runs only to get destroyed each time.

When Kwame Brown defensively stymies your doin'-work big man there's little reason play Favors.

Kwame Brown is actually a pretty good defender in the league now. Does nothing else though. That's probably the only reason he's still in the league.

                        • Mo sucks. Too many poor decisions for a PG.

It's an interesting contrast to Devin Harris who completely lacked confidence. I'd say the jury is still out on which player is less bad.

                            • Mo covers as much space and uses as many dribbles as he possibly can to get very little done. As opposed to CP3 and Nash who use very little of the court on offensive sets, but set up screens perfectly and dissect defenses.

We could have had CP3, we picked wrong.
