I'm not sure what would be a more wasted move that, or getting the GS pick and picking a kid from Weber State that lost in the CIT. Is there a coin flip emoticon?

I'm not sure they take Lillard if they end up with the GS pick. The PG's in the draft don't seem strong enough to justify top 10 and I think they'd only look point if they ended up with their own pick at the back of the lottery.

Who would you pick with the GS pick (let's say theoretically it's #8) that would be less of a wasted move? I agree in not really being interested in Jimmer.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Also, if the Warriors don't win another game, they are 6th worst record. Tied for 7th is looking like best case scenario for Jazz fans.

Have I mentioned you're a moron? How in the hell do you figure a 1 in 4 chance of someone 8 or lower moving into the top 3 when the link you provided validates my claim of 4% being the highest probability of a team 8-14 moving up.

Someone didnt even look at the numbers in the link. It is a fact that if you have the #7 pick before lotto, you have a 23% chance of ending with #8 and a 2% chance of ending with #9.

Obviously Jacob isn't the only moron. At best, there is a 4% chance that any team 8-14 has a combo that is drawn and moves them into the top 3 and thus moves everyone else down a spot.

Learn how to read a stats table. The 23% you're referencing is the probability if the lottery continued down from 1 to 8. They only draw the top 3, it's really not hard to get the numbers.

I'm getting 8.2% chance that a team 8-14 moves into the No. 1 spot:

                  8. Detroit Pistons - 28 combinations, 2.8% chance
                  9. Utah Jazz (via GS) - 17 combinations, 1.7% chance
                  10. New Orleans Hornets (via Min) - 11 combinations, 1.1% chance
                  11. Portland Trail Blazers - 8 combinations, 0.8% chance
                  12. Milwaukee Bucks - 7 combinations, 0.7% chance
                  13. Utah Jazz - 6 combinations, 0.6% chance
                  14. Phoenix Suns - 5 combinations, 0.5% chance

So that's twice as high as your 4% claims, and that's only for the top spot.

Im not the one who needs to learn how to read. If someone finishes #7, they have a 4% chance at #1, a 5% chance at #2, a 6% chance at #3, a 60% chance at #7, 23% at #8, and a 2% chance at #9.

Sure, an 8% cumulative chance that those teams get the #1 pick and about 9% for any of them to get the #2 pick and about 11% for the #3.

The 4% is the best chance a team has to get into the top 3 which is saying that there is almost no chance the GS pick will move from 7 to 8, if that's where it ends up.

But it's a fixed lottery, so who the hell knows where the GS pick will end up.

I just think it's odd that so called Jazz fans are more worried about GS and the lottery than a playoff run.

You just admitted there is ~26% chance and then went back to 4% chance for some reason.

You'd best stop. You're just embarrassing yourself. I already said they stop drawing after the top 3 so you're point is invalid.

There's not a 23% chance that a team 8-14 moves into the top 3. Not sure how that is getting misread or misunderstood.
