My brother grew up a Broncos fan, but followed Portis to the Redskins and is now a big Skins fan. He won't be happy about this.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostPortis the Tortoise takes a shot at Jason Campbell on the radio and Campbell absolutely destroys Portis in a phone interview:

And according to Adam Schefter, Kyle Shanahan will be the OC."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

Dan Snyder issued a statement wherein he took responsibility for mistakes he's made as an owner. He probably didn't mean a word of it, but it was a great PR move. My guess is they'll bring in one more personnel guy to work with Allen and Shanny. My guess is Doug Williams, who has a history with both Allen and the organization.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostInteresting. None of the Washington outlets have this yet. Still, there has been a vigil outside Redskins Park as they have been negotiating. It may be a fools hope, but this coupled with a new team president gives Redskins fans hope.
Now, I have a list of about two dozen players that it would be very emotionally satisfying to see them get rid of."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

So some glimmers of hope have begun to emerge at Redskins park. On the first day of free agency we have cut 10 players, resigned a few veterans and have signed zero free agents. This is the best evidence yet that things will be different under Bruce Allen and Mike Shannahan. It is a long road to rebuild and for trust to be regained, but this is a very palpable change over years past.

They have to take Okung with their pick. Sounds like they're looking at Blount in the second round. I am disappointed they let Ganther go. He was the short yardage back they were missing. He was nothing but productive when he was in.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostSo some glimmers of hope have begun to emerge at Redskins park. I hope that is what they do, but I guess it depends on whether they think they will be able to cobble together a line here soon. It looks like they might sign Chad Clifton from Green Bay which makes Okung less likely unless they plan to move Clifton to right tackle, which I suppose they could. Raymer has been resigned. Dockery is a serviceable left guard and big Mike Williams was a decent right guard. Add Okung to that group and you have a pretty good line.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThey have to take Okung with their pick. Sounds like they're looking at Blount in the second round. I guess the way they don't do that is if they get convinced that Bradford is Peyton Manning (and he is available) and that there isn't a comparable guy available next year. Or God forbid they take whats his face from Notre Dame.

They have a lot of holes to fill, especially with all of their cuts. This is going to be an interesting off season. They need to shore up the OL. That is the biggest need. They need a CB and a LB. And they need a RB.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI hope that is what they do, but I guess it depends on whether they think they will be able to cobble together a line here soon. Clifton would be a nice pick up. But I don't know that he's worth the money that $7 mil/year that people are talking and that he's presumed to be asking. Also, though GB has stated they can't afford a bidding war over him with the Redskins, they may have to with Peppers being added to their division."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I think they are out of the running for Peppers aren't they? My worry with Clifton is that he has been in the league 10 years. Even for a tackle that is when they start to fall apart. Get him if he is cheap, certainly, but I agree with you that they asking price is too high.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThey have a lot of holes to fill, especially with all of their cuts. When the season ended I was saying we don't really need a QB. Fill other needs, get one next year. I guess my more recent thinking has been that there aren't any good NFL teams w/o a franchise QB and we don't have one. If Bradford=Manning then I think you get him no matter what and maybe sit him a year. If he is Jason Campbell redux, get a QB down the road.

Hasn't Shanahan already hitched his wagon to Campbell, at least in year one?Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI hope that is what they do, but I guess it depends on whether they think they will be able to cobble together a line here soon.
