Edit: Argh, why can't I embed a stupid tweet? Edit2: I think I figured it out.

She does not have the kick to match what was run yesterday. Either they were trying to save for the 5 k as well or they did not plan very well. If she doesn't win the 5 k then it was coaching.

The winning time of 31:54.88 was over a minute slower than Jane's NCAA record 30:46.80 earlier this year at Stanford. A lot of people online are blaming it on bad coaching - saying she should have been coached to put more distance between herself and the pack earlier in the race and not try to outkick at the end. I'm not smart enough about track to really have an opinion on whether it was coaching or Jane just didn't have a great day.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostJane ran out of gas in the last lap of the 10K final yesterday and finished 3rd. BYU Ben Barton took first place in the decathlon. That was really fun to watch.

No worries about getting pushed tonight. Finished 12 seconds ahead of 2nd place and was 20m ahead of the pack from less than a lap in and just expanded it over the race. 15:17.93

This is glorious. Kosgei veers so far that she pushes Jane all the way to lane 4 (should have gotten a DQ for that) and Jane still beats her at the very end.
EDIT: and both runners beat the old track record
