He ran really well. Runs the 5k tomorrow, though he doesn't have the sprint to compete. I think his future is in the marathon.

The women in the 1500 did awesome. Camp and Orton (now Morgan), but made it through the first round, but got 8th in their respective heats of the semi-final. Top 5 moved on in each to the final.

Courtney Wayment looked awesome in the steeplechase tonight. Was 2nd, got the Olympic qualifying standard and made the final on Thursday. I think she has an outside chance of making the team.

I saw on Twitter than BYU got a commit from what appears to be one top runners in the nation. She is a non-member our of Tennessee. I'm curious how impressive her HS times are, compared to what it takes to excel in college - Piney?

I'm not sure what the coaches ranking is at BYU. I don't think there is a wrong answer, but it has to include Kalani, Pope, Dijeet, Rockwood, and both volleyball coaches.

She is the national record holder in the 5k. Like future Olympic medalist caliber if she stays healthy.

Wow. That is amazing. What a great pickup for Dijeet and the whole program.

              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Ashton Riner was awesome! Congrats to her and a great way to finish off her career.

Wayment ran great in the steeplechase. Looked really good and there was no reason to do more than she did. Qualified easily for the final and looks to do very well in the finals, hopefully win.

The rest of the distance team however…

Halliday once again had a really bad day on the big stage. Kind of like XC. Really disappointing performance.

Same with Claire Seymour. After being runner up last year and to finish 18th this year. It was bad. She was one of the favorites coming in.

In the 10k, Frentheway was 22 of 24. She got beat by two girls from UVU. Enough said.

On the guys side: Dallin Vorkink has a great second day in the decathlon and ended up in 11th. Potentially all American next year. Would be nice to get some points there.

Ashton’s dad is a friend of mine (he coached the Hadley brothers in HS). They are in our stake. She is a great kid. Really happy for her.

I watched a replay of the race - holy cow she blew the field away. The gal from Yale who took second had a dominant run - well out ahead of everyone - but Wayment was just that much ahead of her. Crazy how she just took off those last couple of laps.

I read that the second place girl now has the third fastest ncaa time. Wayne to destroyed her. Crazy.

Courtney races in the world championship finals tonight. I am looking forward to watching. I am hoping she breaks 9:10 and finds herself in the mix.
