How Haws comes back is the biggest question in my mind.

I'm not as bold as you, so I'll go

    Emery 16-18
    Haws 13-15
    Bryant 11-13

    Childs 8-10
    Chatman 2-3

"tractor" Dastrup, depending on how hard he works to get in shape, could certainly eat in to any of those numbers.

Well, your high end was certainly more bold.

Hoping he can come in off the bench and cause a real Dastruption™ in the paint.

I think the Ginger Kitten is going to wreck shop this year. He's already reportedly going HAM on the early morning workouts.

That said, KD playing off the bounce? Playing stretch 4? Mourning for Corbin because he had NBA prospects? I also hope we don't see much of Chatman next year. He's a decent perimeter defender and can hit the occasional spot up 3, but that is it. Whoever said that the discussion about who plays the 3 next year is overblown is exactly right. Next year will be a 3 guard lineup just like this year. Bryant will play KC's role and will switch with Emery on defense when they go man and will play up top when they go 1-3-1. The backcourt will be Bryant, Emery and Haws. I expect Davis will start because he is a senior but I am hoping Yoeli takes that position over eventually. Mika will start in the middle. I fully expect BYU to try and add another guard via grad transfer or perhaps someone who is a natural wing.
I also really liked the proposed lineup with Kaufus and Mika. Good stuff.

I think Chatman could still develop but I'm not counting on it.

I think next year's roster is one of the oddest rosters we've ever had. Our best two guards are both combo guards in the 6'2" and 6'3" range. We have a transfer from Elon who has some size but played pg there and in HS and looks like he's a subpar shooter. We have a pair of big physical guys one of which has a post move. We have like 3 guys 6'8 or 6'9 who as soft as kitten hair, play below the rim, are skilled shooters but can't guard a stationary object. Then we have some weird cast-offs that don't fit anywhere like a 7'3" dude made out of straw and a 6'6" dude who wants to play post with a turn around fade away, a big can, and no lift. Finally, we have another 6'6" dude with athletic looking hops who can't move laterally and is a spotty shooter.

I'm really interested to see how Rose turns this into a roster. We have a lot of well recruited guys but I'm not sure how they fit together.

You're concerned about a guy who will be starting getting enough minutes to score 10 ppg?

You are obviously privy to information I am not. He played a 1 at Elon. I guess you think he is a lock to start at 3, or that Haws won't be ready?

None of us know for sure, but I think most people view it as Bryant vs Chatman for the third wing spot. I guess most are assuming Bryant is better than Chatman.

Huh? I already said Bryant, Emery and Haws will be starting. That will be the three guard lineup. Just like Rose used it this last year with KC, Emery and Chase. Who plays the 3 is really inconsequential. I expect Bryant and Haws to share ball handling duties with Bryant probably playing more of a 1 like KC did. The only way those three don't start is if one suffers an injury or BYU lands a grad transfer guard like Neal from UNM or maybe a wing.

I don't think Chatman could have put up Bryant's numbers playing for Elon. I expect Chatman will play with vastly more confidence as he goes on, but I don't think he is really highly talented. He'll be a very valuable bench guy beginning next year imo.

Apparently some are reporting that Corbin Kaufusi is going to play both sports next season. So he will be back for conference season as an enforcer. I would like to see Corbin all year long for hoops but I think the reality is he might as well enjoy his college experience and become another boring ass BYU graduate who gets a job in accounting or something like that. He ain't gonna get many bills paid through either football or hoops. But if I understand the rules of college sports athletic scholarships if Corbin is going to be on scholarship he must get it from the football team since that is the first sport he will play next year. In other words I think there is room for BYU to add another player or two depending on if BYU gives a scholarship to Stephan Beo (which I believe BYU will end up doing) - hopefully either a graduate transfer or a JC transfer who can play the wing.

I think these are your 13 scholarship players for next year assuming Toolsen and Kaufusi are no longer on scholarship:

                              Senior (1)
                              -Kyle Davis

                              Junior (2)
                              -Jamal Aytes
                              -Possible JC or Graduate Transfer

                              Sophomores (6)
                              Nick Emery
                              Eric Mika
                              Jordan Chatman
                              Elijah Bryant
                              Braiden Shaw
                              Jaykob Hartsock

                              Freshman (4)
                              Stephan Beo
                              TJ Haws
                              Payton Dastrup
                              Yoeli Childs

The next three years should be really fun. If TJ is as advertised, Mika doesn't kill anyone, and we establish a stretch 3/4, we are going to be really difficult to stop.
