Krystko and the Utes are ready to rock being better than horrible ('13-'14 edition)
Tonight is one of two non-conference opportunities for the Utes to see what its like to play high level competition. It will take time for them to adjust to the speed and intensity of the game at this level. Boise by 10.
Yeah, it was on of their best wins (the Washington win on the road was probably better and so was the Oregon win). But Boise St is favored by 10 points so wapiti is reflecting the betting market.

C'mon, Wuapiti, have some more faith. It's always tough to invade the Smurf Court, but Boise doesn't have anyone that can match up with this beast in the paint:

In 1979, Patrick Swayze made his film debut in the comedy, Skate Town USA, alongside luminaries such as Scott Baio, Maureen McCormick, and one of the three sexiest women to ever hit the silver screen: Ruth Buzzi. This movie was one of several movies intended to cash in on the disco rollerskate craze of the late 70s and the only one to feature playboy model Dorothy Stratten.
Playing the character Ace Johnson, Swayze electrified audiences with his disco rollerskating moves and fresh good looks. In between clips featuring everything from guns to glitter to an obligatory appearance by Billy Barty, Swayze debuted what would later come to be known as his trademark combination of sexiness and grace. The movie culminated in a skate competition between Ace and Stan Nelson, in a winner take all battle for $1000 cash and a new moped.
Little known fact: Swayze was already an accomplished roller skater in real life and performed all of his own skating sequences. He also did his own stunts in this movie.
One of Ace's signature skate sequences can be seen here (warning: SFW, but does contain mild self-flagellation with a belt, as well as auto-erotic crotch rubbing with the same belt):
Several USU fans basically describe MWC basketball as being equal to SEC football - so good that they don't need any good OOC games. They went on to say that they don't need BYU on their schedule with a schedule that already includes the likes of SDSU, UNM, Wyoming, UNLV, and Boise (all with home and home games!).
Was Swayze the hero or the villian. I watched all 3:17 of the video above, and couldn't tell. It might be a little bit like when the Devil went down to Georgia, the wrong person went home with the golden fiddle.... and his soul.
