I'm so wired right now from the adrenaline and the sugar rush I may not be able to sleep until 2.
I had to wait up and see if you made it till 2.

I didn't. Game ended near two. Now I am paying the price.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

        • I went to bed at 12 mins to go in the first half. I had faith they'd win so I slept easy.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

          • Decent win. USF is a solid team. They played very hard and BYU's best player did not have a great game. I think this past game demonstrates the difference between BYU this year and last. I think the way USF is playing would make them the 2nd best team in the WCC last year. There is no way BYU would have beaten a team this good last year if Tyler Haws shot this poorly for the final 35 minutes of the game. However, this BYU team is developing enough weapons to finally be able to play well enough to be a decent team when Tyler Haws struggles offensively. I really like the development of Anson Winder and I really hope he stays the starting 2 for next year. One thing that has frustrated me the past 3 years has been the turnover in lineups/roles. There have been some unfortunate injuries and a dearth of talented players so I am not sure how it could be avoided but I hope Rose has finally found a lineup/roles for his players. I really think that going into next year he has his perimeter players established with KC, Anson, Haws and Carlino and Fischer off the bench. I don't want to see the fluid movement of the past years where a kid like Halford can go from a starter to an almost total non-contributor over a 7 game stretch. That is bad for continuity, morale and my nerves. I really hope this has been figured out for next year. I actually think next years club has a good chance to hover around the top 25 for much of the year and get a decent seed in the tourney. I once commented that a team led by Tyler Haws is not likely to ever be good enough to win a tourney game, but that was before I decided Kyle Collinsworth will be the best player for BYU next year - especially if he starts to play on the ball defense like I think he can.

I believe BYU has punched its ticket for the dance. However, I still can see the seed being anywhere from a 9 to a 12. Well, actually I think playing to a 9 seed must include a convincing win tonight and I think the Zags are playing too well for BYU to pull that off but I do think BYU might be able to squeak out a win and thus play themselves into a 10 seed. Tough/close loss and I think BYU is a solid 11 and a decisive loss gets BYU either an 11 or a 12 and perhaps a play in game.

I still want another post big for next year as well.

I think he has become the best player on BYU's team. Delon Wright still might be better but IMO the debate should shift to Wright versus KC.

              • you just said the other day that BYU had to win it all. Naturally, now you agree with me!

I popped an Ambien (very rare for me) and was sleeping blissfully at 1. I'm ready for tonight's snackfest.

No. I said BYU could only lose to Gonzaga. Perhaps you are not aware but at this point nobody else can beat them.

I wish those things worked for me. I am in the office today running on fumes. I have to be careful not to make any trades today. A bad trade while sitting here in a stupor could cost billions.

                          • What's with all the sleep deprivation talk? You guys act like you've never had to pull a late night at work. I finished the game and stayed up for another 3 hours watching Godfather 2. I feel great.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I'd have been more impressed had you watched Godfather 3.
