College basketball is the only thing that makes me miss the MWC. I miss playing those schools.

I'd feel that way except for their fanbases are so lame, and the fans in the WCC were so much better, that I don't miss them.

It's good competition, but the UNLV fanbase in particular is horrible. UNM and SDSU aren't as bad, but are still right up there.

I completely disagree. I love the students dressing up like missionaries at Viejas. I love the crowds at Thomas and Mack booing the Cougars. I love the venom spewed in New Mexico at the Pit. I love the signs. I love the chants. I love being hated. I love being the one school that everyone wanted to beat. And I love silencing all those fans. That made those games compelling. Even if those schools were down, you knew you were going to get their best every time. I really miss that.

I think that could develop in the WCC, on the other hand, maybe it's just going to be the type of thing where the games are intense, but it's more just mutual respect and classy.

I dunno. I hate UNLV fans, and I hate their little conference tournament on their home floor every year. That crap bugged me. BYU was always better than those UNLV teams on our court and on a neutral court, but it was a lot to ask to have to beat them on their floor when a tourney berth was on the line and they'd underperformed once again in the regular season.

BYU didn't even get into the "receive votes" category?

Where is HigherRoad? Time to start tormenting him with dismissive posts about the West Coast Conference.

When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

A second-round NCAA team returning three starters and nearly its entire bench coached by one of the better coaches in the nation deserves a little consideration. If BYU can get past Southeastern Oklahoma State and Findlay I'm confident this injustice will be rectified.
