Isn't a loss like this bad for the Cougars shot at getting in? There's no way they'll leave the PAC-12 regular season champ out, so all this does is open the door for another PAC team to sneak in. I think regardless of the conf tourney outcome, UW and Cal were in. If a team other than those two wins the tournament, that's bad for BYU, IMO.

I think they probably get in but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

They could very well get in. I'm not saying they won't. But in no way, shape or form should anyone think the Huskies shouldn't be sweating it on the bubble.

My guess is that they will get in whether they truly deserve it or not based on conference name.

The reason the PAC is rating higher in Sagarin is not because the top three teams are better, it's because after the PAC's top three, the rest are not as uniformily bad as in the WCC (with the exception of Utah, of course).

Incidentally, even with their first place finish in the PAC, Washington still has a worse RPI than BYU as well as fewer quality wins and a worse record against common opponents.

Washington 21-10 overall, 54 rpi (which will surely drop lower probably 60) strength of schedule 85 (this too will drop) 1-8 vs. top 50, 4-8 vs. top 100.

BYU 23-8 overall 46 rpi, strength of schedule 95, 3-6 vs top 50, 5-6 vs. top 100.

You tell me who deserves to go?

For as awful as EastSPN and CUF have wanted everyone to believe the P12 is this year, 6 teams with 20 wins. Oregon State and UCLA with 19 and a chance to get to 20 still alive.

Nobody would love to see Washington hosed more than me, but IMO there should be no question that the P12 champion gets into the dance.
