Did the "in" make it sound like a certain thing? Because Rose certainly sounded uncertain when saying his staff will still look to see if there is someone else worth adding to the team during this spring period that runs through May 16th. And during his interview with Wrubell when he said that giving scholarships to walk-ons generally isn't something that can be planned for and most of the time they are expected to be dedicated to the program without ever getting a scholarship. He did say that when a situation presents itself when a walk-on can get his school paid for it is a positive thing, but it is rare.

I doubt they find anyone else that they'd like to add that would then take up a scholarship for 2 or 4 years at this point, as opposed to giving the remaining spot to Cusick for 1 year and using that slot in next year's recruiting.

According to him yes, and I think Rose's answers have left wiggle room when they announce Cusick's scholarship.

I wouldn't put it in the BYU-to-the-Big 12 category of absolute certainly, nor in the Matt Cushman my-word-is-stronger-than-oak category either but he said that Cusick was told weeks ago.

This was posted on CB yesterday by a poster I'm not familiar with. Not sure if he reads this board and could expound. He's had 300 posts over on CB since Aug 2010.

"I know everyone has been pretty interested in who the final free scholarship may go to. I don't have any inside info on whether or not Cusick is set to receive that scholarship or not, but if not, look for him not to return next year. I have spoken with a few people close to the situation and if Craig doesn't get a scholarship offer for this next year, he is seriously considering not returning."

Interesting. Let me just say this: I would be absolutely shocked to see them offer a JC at this point.

Martineau didn't attend the year end banquet, which is too bad, but understandable. He did receive two awards - Academic Excellence and the Coach's Award (have no idea what that is for).

I feel bad for the kid, he obviously gave his all to the program. Unfortunately, his best wasn't good enough. I've been there before, it sucks. With that said, Rose absolutely made the right decision in pulling his scholarship- NM played 53 more minutes than Cosmo did this year and got a heck of less air time. Hope everything works out ok for him

I don't blame him for not attending. Especially if he felt bad that his schollie got pulled. I couldn't sit there and get patronized with awards knowing I wasn't wanted. It is what it is though, and like you said, Coach Rose is the coach, not the EQP.

Is this going to include moving the student section to the baselines?

Cusick deserves a scholarship for a year

                          That's what I've been told.

I have to assume that the yellow chairs will all be replaced with blue chairs?

You think anyone still makes chairs in that color?

                                That's my fear.
