BYU vs the Jim Rome Gauchos

UCSB isn't a bad team and are probably similar in caliber to Buffalo. They lost to SDSU in OT and to UNLV in 2OT. Also coming off losses to Washington and Cal. They got a scorer in Orlando Johnson who can go for 20+ easily.

I am setting the crowd O/U at 8400. Anyone going?

Hopefully we get off to a decent start. I am growing tired of spotting every team we play 10.

Also, Austin practiced yesterday and will play tonight. As Kdog reported, not injured, just sore.

      I will be there.

UCSB is a high tempo team. They lead Washington by like 9 with under 3 minutes and the ball. They are the Utah State of college hoops just can't close teams out.

Tonight My wife is handing out baked treats to half the neighborhood, we are doing a secret Santa every night until Xmas eve, and our home teachers (whom we have never seen grace our doorway) are stopping by for a "brief" message.

Of course I'm going to the game tonight. Might even go early.
        Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Once a year HT visits? Who wouldn't sign up for that?

I'll be there with both kids and my wife.

I think we zone this team a lot. They really play a lot with 4 guards and Serna. I also don't think we see a lot of Austin this game as their players will be tough guards for him if we're not in a zone. If we play man, I'm interested to see how Chuck does on Johnson. If I'm the coach I put Chuck on Johnson and Hartsock on Nunnally (even though that's a tough guard for Noah), Davies on Serna, and give lots of minutes to Winder in an effort to have enough quickness on the floor to stay in front of Taylor.

I agree they will probably play 4 guards but Nunnally and Johnson are big guards (6'7 and 6'5). I hope we see the 7'3 Serbian tonight.

They are big guards. I like our ability to run with them in our regular groups and kill them on the glass. We'll see how that goes. I worry about the waterbug from Oakland because he could force us into a zone with his penetration.

Because I am in the Christmas spirit, I am going to throw out a compliment and be sincere.

I really appreciate the knowledge some or a lot of you have concerning BYU sports. The information gained on this board is really top notch.

Sounds like the Gauchos are trying to tweak their lineup to deal with our size. that's a good thing imho.

Like the Buffalo game, UCSB comes out blazing hot.
