This weak conference you are referring to is currently 3-1 against the mighty pac 12 and I would not be surprised to see the WCC have an RPI that is as good or better.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostMpfunk is a ute fan who is being a bit too kind to his rival. I'll give him a pass as I have overrated the utes in football and basketball over the years. BYU isn't good right now. Fortunately they are going to a weak conference, which should soften the blow a bit.
I think BYU FANS are in for an unpleasant surprise this year if they expect to dominate this conference or even win it quite frankly.
Right now the way they are playing they might not even be top 4 or 5 but that could change once Carlino can play.Last edited by Natethegreat; 11-17-2011, 04:04 PM.

First, I haven't seen any BYU fans use the word "dominate," so please remove that from your comments.Originally posted by Natethegreat View PostThis weak conference you are referring to is currently 3-1 against the mighty pac 12 and I would not be surprised to see the WCC have an RPI that is as good or better.

Second, besides St. Mary's and Gonzaga, who are the other two teams you think are better than BYU?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Nor did he go to Gonzaga. Are we doing WCC all-stars vs. WAC/MWC all stars now? I can get on board with this, Art.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostI feel like this is getting off course. Can we get back on topic and all agree, Utah is a really, really bad basketball teamno matter what conference they are finishing last in? Other than that, it is somewhat humorous for either BYU or Utah fans to talk about the "history" of conferences, in which neither has ever played a game."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? USF is capable of finishing higher if BYU does not get better backcourt play. I don't see BYU finishing less than fourth (and I expect third or maybe higher) but I do think its possible.Originally posted by falafel View PostFirst, I haven't seen any BYU fans use the word "dominate," so please remove that from your comments.

As for another team Santa Clara always seems to be really tough come conference play as well. All I'm saying is some here seem to think WCC is some kind of third teir conference and I think they will be unpleasantly surprised.

Steve Nash went to Santa Clara and was a very good player there.Originally posted by Commando View PostNor did he go to Gonzaga. Are we doing WCC all-stars vs. WAC/MWC all stars now? Please designate.
Santa Clara University. In his four seasons with the Broncos, the team made three NCAA Tournament appearances, and Nash was twice named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year.

I would be really surprised if the WCC has a better RPI than the Pac12 as they have never really even been close to the Pac-12 in conference RPI.Originally posted by Natethegreat View PostThis weak conference you are referring to is currently 3-1 against the mighty pac 12 and I would not be surprised to see the WCC have an RPI that is as good or better.
