WCC with solid wins this week...

    LMU spanks #17 UCLA.

    Gonzaga beat Wash St tonight.

St Mary's up by 30 vs a top MVC team in No. Iowa.

All Games were on ESPN...good showing for the WCC Conference. Currently getting a lot of press.

Zags still have Mich St, Arizona, Notre Dame, Illinois, Xavier, Butler, Air Force, etc on the schedule to pick up more quality OOC wins(will lose some too).

BYU can beat Oregon & Baylor too...

If you haven't noticed by now, WCC teams are on ESPN/ESPN 2 way more than your old conference. Gonzaga has 9 out-of-conference games alone on ESPN or CBS. Good scouting opportunity.

    You're welcome.

And now they're on ESPN even more times because of us.

            But their gyms are small!

You're new here, but you'll figure out that we put a high premium on attendance.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Great job. Maybe the WCC can actually crack the top 10 of conference RPI this year and get more than 1 team in the dance.

The Pac 12 may not crack the top 15 this year.

How does the WCC do in the NCAA tournament from year to year?

I don't think I'm going out on a limb here saying, that it is extremely unlikely that the Pac-12 isn't top 10 in conference RPI.

Wait - you mean that teams with an ESPN contract are on ESPN way more than teams that have contracts with other broadcasters?

Next your going to tell me that Gonzaga plays in their own gym WAY more than they play in Arizona State's gym. I'm going to be astounded, of course, because I had never noticed that before.

OK - I apologize for the snarky comments - but really? Did you not know that the MWC doesn't have a contract with ESPN and thus no game held in a MWC gym would ever be on ESPN? Of Course the WCC will have more games on ESPN!

WCC is off to a good start.

I am glad that we were able to add that nice win over BYU-H.

You must be a Ute, yes?

Actually, over the last 5 seasons, we've had at least 2 teams in the Big Dance besides last year -- solid showing for a mid-major Conference.

Of course, Gonzaga is going on 14 consecutive appearances, and two seasons ago we had 3 teams make the NCAA.

FWIW, the WCC has a WINNING record in the Tournament since 2006.

Also, the WCC is currently projected to be a Top-6 Conference in the RPI. I guarantee they'll be Top-10, possibly approach Top-5.

We're[WCC] gonna have a winning record vs your Pac-12 this season.

Boise St, with a former Gonzaga Asst Coach just whooped up on the Utes tonight. Also, the WCC has the TV deal with ESPN, not the Pac-12. To be exact, the WCC features twice as many games on the Sports Network this season...boom.

He is - but I'm still trying to figure out how someone who seems pretty intelligent can't wrap his head around the fact that teams/conferences without an ESPN contract won't be on ESPN very often.

Unless he just likes to keep pointing out that ESPN is the gold standard of networks to be on.

But I get the impression that he is saying ESPN would pick up more of their games if they were good or if the viewers were interested in them - and the reality is that ESPN doesn't have that option. The conference signed a contract with someone else.
