Washburn makes me want to poke my eyeballs out sometimes. he is maddening.

Still predicting a 6 point victory tonite. I would be thrilled with that. And fwiw, the arena is much more alive than most of the hunty games last year. That's good.
Is that based on the 2 points through 30 minutes against San Diego Christian?

Does Utah have anyone that can hit a 3 pointer?

So the Utes barely beating an NAIA school, lost to a Division II school. Does that mean that the Utes take a Division III team to 2OT?

This game is taking forever to end.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The game didn't happen until we hear from Senioritis.

Congrats Utes. Big win tonight against a big time opponent. Cool that the team was able to eek out a W at home.

Krysko's first win as the Ute coach. The first step on a loooong road back. We're up for it, coach.

I'm thinking this will be a big boost in RPI for the Utes in their quest to get into the CBI Postseason Tournament.

No worries. This season is on Boylen's tab.

Probably the next one as well. A buddy of mine was talking with Tommy Connor who basically said that they weren't even looking at wins/losses this year - just trying to change the culture and mentality of the players and get them to play how the coaches want.

If we could get him and UteStar to do live play-by-play this season, I wouldn't miss a game.

                            Well.

                            Uhhhh.

Larry Krysko will not have to wait until next year to get his first win.

I like AO and Storey. Also, Jiggy can score for a guy with hips like Carney Wilson.

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way...

The National Anthem was perhaps the worst rendition ever performed by a non celebrity, performed by a gal that may or may not be an illegitimate child of Rex Ryan. Contrary to modern custom, she did not sing A Capella (meaning: In the same key as the accompaniment). Nor did she sing Sotto Voce (meaning: In a way that any sane person would choose to listen). However, she did attack it. The microphone at the Huntsman hasn't been attacked like that since Jim Boylen got the heave.

The PG for San Diego Christian College was decidedly unchristian. I'll pray for him.

Jason Washburn did not play like an individual who could successfully grow a fetus inside of his body. While his play wasn't necessarily manly, he played at least like a woman who is infertile, or, perhaps, a big fan of professional women's tennis.

AO has eyes like the oldest daughter on Modern Family. Totally dreamy, but faintly froglike.

I am cheering for a team that starts Blake Wilkinson. He's not a plucky energy guy off the bench, he's not a guy to get the starters to play up in practice, he's not a blender. He's a starter. A freaking starter. I'm trying to remember a worse starter for Utah, and I have to go all the way back to Luka Drca.

Javon Dawson is double wide. His thighs rub together when he runs. Were he endowed, he'd have to go with the silks to avoid the discomfort of chafing. I kind of like him.

George Matthews, while passing the eyeball test, sort of reminds me of a guy back in the day named Greg Dodd. "How do you starve Greg Dodd?" the old joke goes. "Hide his food stamps under his work boots," comes the reply. I'm not saying the guy isn't gonna get it, or that he couldn't get it. I'm saying that he doesn't get it right now, and he's behind Blake Freaking Wilkinson because Blake Freaking Wilkinson gives a damn and stuff. I know it's before early, but George Matthews needs a foot up his nether regions.

Also, what has seven arms and sucks? Def Leppard.

And then there's Tommy Connor. Poor, poor Tommy Connor. Tommy Connor reminds of Bob Balaban in Waiting for Guffman. The understated but extremely competent music teacher who gets passed over for the main gig, but bites his lip and carries on as the second fiddle. He spends his life quietly pining for the flamboyant metrosexual to have a major diva flameout so that he can get his shot. When he speaks up, he gets backhanded. That's Tommy Connor. I love Tommy Connor. Tommy Connor could go a whole season and not turn the ball over as much as the Utes tonight.

So, I'm coming off a little pissy this evening. I've seen a lot of bad games over the past couple years. If seeing bad games were fear of showering, I'd be Joaquin Phoenix. I can't imagine what the mood will be after 10 game losing streaks and beatdowns at the hands of ridiculous charades of programs like USC.

Anyway, on to the contest against those mouth breathing nut huggers from Boise. Chris Petersen looks like Billy Bob Thorton.

Senioritis' recaps are the only thing I'm looking forward to this season.

I watched the second half, and it's worse than I thought (which is sayin a lot). The state of the program is beyond depressing. I haz a sad.

We are about as well off as the Marshall football program after the plane crash. This is going to sound like hyperbole, but I don't see any good reason to believe that we will ever have a winning program again. Not to say it couldn't happen, but the program has been destroyed. It has no talent in it nor really the ability to bring much in. The only thing we can hope for is to get lucky and have a star emerge who can start to build us some momentum.
