We are about as well off as the Marshall football program after the plane crash. This is going to sound like hyperbole, but I don't see any good reason to believe that we will ever have a winning program again. Not to say it couldn't happen, but the program has been destroyed. It has no talent in it nor really the ability to bring much in. The only thing we can hope for is to get lucky and have a star emerge who can start to build us some momentum.

If we're in the same position next year, Larry's coaching for two jobs: His and Hill's. I can't think of a program as successful as Utah basketball in either of the major sports that has endured the collapse Utah hoops has without crippling NCAA violations. How could anyone trust Hill to make a FOURTH potentially abominable hire?

I think they have gotten into the Pac 12 just in time. Also, K's recruiting class this year was at normal Majerus levels. We need a COACH. I hope K is it. I do like his style, and he's experienced.

Some who saw the game tonight said that we have a discernible offense now, which is a step forward. The team is still awful, but at least their awfulness has a plan and they're not just running around on the court, free-lancing. So I think we have a coach again.

It seems to me that LK was smart enough to see that he had to rebuild the whole program. I think he had the green light from Hill to do that. So he grabbed what fill-in players he could for 2011 and focused on 2012. I hear he's overdrawn on scholies for 2012 by 3 already. Doesn't that mean we aren't going to be seeing some of his 2011 JC guys next year?

Anyway, 2011 is going to be a depressing year. We ought to be unembarrassing in 2012, maybe competitive in 2013. And yes, TopUte, the total collapse of Utah basketball will forever be a black mark on Chris Hill's record. It's a travesty. I hope that by the time he retires 3-4 years from now, Utah hoops will have turned around.

I have more confidence in hiring Larry than Jim Boylen. I was always bothered by the Boylen hire due to the fact his claim to fame was being an assistant to Tom Izzo, no actual real head coaching job before Utah, just an assistant. Larry did a good job with Montana in the two years he was there. Although normally the Big Sky Champion is either Montana or Weber State 2/3rds of the time.

Oh, and Larry has that coveted CBA Championship with the Idaho Stampede that everyone is out to get.

You've gotta give Krysko at least 3 years. He needs to start developing freshman and not just JC transfers. JC transfers might get you to 8th best in the PAC 12. He needs at least 3-4 years to develop players from their freshman year. 1 or maybe 2 at the most JC transfers is the max.
