Important Question, will the 11-12 Utes be as bad as the 1-25 Ingle Warriors

Are you saying that LK has shown signs of knowing what he's doing? Or Dr. Hill has shown signs of knowing what he's doing?

And if you want to know what I believe, just ask and I'll tell you, you should know by now I'm not shy.

    1. If we had kept Boylen, we'd have been an NIT minimum, maybe NCAA bound team. While Ute fans will scream at this assertion, I point to his team from year one to year two with what he can do with a consistent group of players.

    2. I don't see how Larry is going to get talent in here quick enough to win at any level. We're going to be the worst team in the history of Utah hoops. Then we add transfers from LSU (who struggled to score on some not good LSU teams) and a Big Sky PG. And praying that Olsen doesn't go elsewhere.

    3. Larry didn't get Woolridge despite having a relationship with him. Made serious recruiting mistakes with JJ and Sharp and ran Dom Lee for inexplicable reasons. Not to mention pulling mission schollies from Monson and Fuller.

I question nearly everything Larry did in this off season. I realize Utah fans have this Hoosieresque fantasy that just enough well run Inbounds plays will make up for a total lack of talent. But unless George Matthews is Jimmy Chitwood, we're in a crap load of trouble and no real way to get it better. Especially if Larry doesn't get shockingly better at recruiting.

I look at what we had last year and can't believe we paid $2 million for this. But I suppose that isn't entirely Larry's fault and a great deal of the blame must go to Chris Hill.
Wait - some of this is new to me. So are you saying that the guy who complained about a returning missionary going to another school and whined about unwritten rules is the same guy who pulled scholarships from a couple of other kids who were on missions?

Wow - If the kids don't have the talent and need to be gone to improve the program, I suppose I get that. But that takes guts to cut lose a couple and then cry when a third kid decides to go too. When you demonstrate that the organization has no loyalty to players they've recruited, how do you expect players to then remain loyal?

Hill hired Mac, Majerus, Urban, Whittingham and got an invite to join the Pac-12.

Granted, he also hired Giac, Boylen and Krystko.

I'm still waiting to find out what the important question is. As it may be the first that Crimson's ever asked I won't hold my breath.

Its new to you because it is inaccurate. There were two players - Monson and Fuller who both were on the team this past year. Both players decided to go on missions. One of the players, Monson, was not a scholarship basketball player. He had no hoops scholarship.

The other player is Fuller. Some argued from the day that he signed that he was not a D1 type player. Krystko arrived, evaluated all of the players and told both Monson and Fuller that they would get back from their mission and have to play to earn a scholarship with the meaning being that if they stuck around, they wouldn't have a scholarship for them either unless they showed they deserved it. Basically Krystko has gone thru the entire roster and determined who would stay on the team.

These are not Krystko's players and he is determining who will stay on the team. There are two players that were/are on missions and Krystko has already stated he wants both of them back, Sharp and Olsen. Sharp has already decided to play elsewhere.

It's important enough to the Comrade to come here and ask BYU fans for their opinions.

Might I suggest he was doing exactly what you just accused Eddie of doing? IOW, do you really think Comrade cares what BYU fans really think? This thread is nothing more than a crimson herring.

Oh, I think he'd like to find some people who agree with him that Hill bollixed the whole thing up and should have kept Boylen. I'm sure many BYU fans would have loved it if Boylen had been retained.

Your last statement goes without saying.

Crimson is proof that misery loves company I guess. We have our own versions within our fanbase to be sure. I myself spent many-a-night lamenting Bronco's inane run-on sentences rather than enjoying his on-the-field successes. I'm much happier now. I might be even happier if for once you'd just "shut your festering gobutit" though.

Can you try to get the facts correct?

Boylen sat down with the Hendersons and his parents and they all swore that the kid would change his ways. The Henderson's were so pissed at their son they actually didn't allow him to come home when he left Utah and they remain great fans of Jim Boylen.

So yeah, he took a chance.

Seems Majerus did that two with guys like Darroll Wright whom he kicked off the team after several incidences and Andre Miller who was convicted of theft his freshman year and did straighten out.

But lets pretend its something only Boylen did.

Oh I know plenty of people who truly believe that Hill has clustereffed this one. In fact a lot of people on the Hill think this is going to go one way or the other in a big way, and more that a few are leaning to the downside.

But LA you tell me hoop expert, how is Larry going to win enough to keep his job with what he's done.

This year will be the worst team in Utes history, unless your expertise will tell me how they won't. The year after to make us better we have a Big Sky guard who no Pac-10 team or Gonzaga for that matter sniffed at when he wanted to transfer and a guy who didn't average 10 at LSU (again Washington didn't even sniff and Gonzaga chose a kid from Africa).

Not to mention we'll have almost no size and we're praying that Olsen comes back (and after the way Larry crapped on the Sharps do we think that is likely).

We're looking at single digit wins next year, maybe better the year after and praying that a miracle occurs by year three and somehow Ute fans will turn out for all this?

I will enjoy when Seattle and Funk are rewriting their histories again three years from now and pretending they knew it was coming all along. Seems you've joined them LA.

Then he makes them into champions, and Utes go somewhere between pretending it didn't happen or that Boylen had nothing to do with.

Its shameful, it really is and I thought we were better than that.
