  • Important Question, will the 11-12 Utes be as bad as the 1-25 Ingle Warriors

We lost our best player in Clyburn (in fact our 2nd best player in JJ Obrien) although we didn't lose them to white collar crime.

We had an 8 player turnover which was much higher than the 1-25 edition of BYU hoops.

We have a group of JC guys who didn't average 10 PPG at their JC's.

Although Matthews is probably more talented than anyone on that BYU team.

And we aren't playing in the WAC.

In short, we can't really score, don't have a ton of talent and have an upgraded schedule.

Whether we get past the 1-25 team hinges on just how bad we can make the preseason schedule although I'm told Larry is an amazing coach because he beat Nevada five years ago.

I'm curious what BYU fans might be thinking about all this.

I'm thinking 0-26 might not be out of the question. Remember, you don't have anybody running the team near the caliber of the man, the myth, the legend...Yes, I speak of Matt Montague.

I would put the over/under at 6 wins.

Didn't Oregon State lose at home to UVU last year? There were some other terrible losses by PAC-10 teams, too.

When the Utes get their second win this fall I'll down a celebratory Diet Coke in your honor, Crimmy.

Well it doesn't count till we see what the preseason schedule is. But I will promise if Larry gets us past 5 Pac 12 wins, I'll drink a big ol gulp of the Krysto kool-aid.

This doesn't strike me as a very important question.

What are you one of those do gooders who cares about other people and things, because I assure you, this is a very important question.

I find it interesting that you were one guy who always touted how terrific the hires of Gaic and Boylen were...yet you seem to go out of your way to go after Krystko. I am not sure exactly why but I have a feeling that no matter what Utah does this year, you will be sure and let us know that Krystko is nothing to get excited about and Utes are in trouble for years to come.

With all that said, I think the Utes win probably around 5 games this year. I just don't see how they could do much better than that. I sure wish we could have kept OBrien. But I am glad to see that this is Krystko's team right from the start, sink or swim.

Not to burst your bubble, but most BYU fans are not thinking about Utah basketball much at all.

It was indeed an odd question. I'm not curious about what BYU fans think about any Utah sport, let alone basketball.

I am thinking about Saturday March 3rd, and the pain that will be caused for the University of Utah Men's Basketball team and their fans on that afternoon/evening.

This is what I am thinking: best possible outcome would be 1-whatever with the single victory coming at the expense of . . . wait for it . . . USU.
