I have long heard tales of some great "Senioritis" but I'm not one of the Y fans who bothers with the Ute board. I'm starting to think I've been missing out. Excellent work Senioritis.

Matt Read apparently narrowed it down to Utah and St. Louis and picked the Utes...score on for Boylen over Majerus.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI was looking at the conference recruiting list today.

After getting over the fact that BYU is beating the hell out of us in Utah County and particularly at Lone Peak, I was intrigued by some of the players on the list. Looks like the top rated guys are transfers. Matt Read particularly seems to be the highest rated new player in the league and over all the class looks very nice.
What do people know about Read? Also, what is our Texas connection? Seems like that was very fertile ground this year."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

BYU is no. 7.Originally posted by scottie View PostIf you have that page bookmarked, will you post it? I'd like to see where they have BYU.

But that's inflated because BYU's players are all in-state, and they're usually overrated. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Bravo. I LOL'd at #7. My wife wondered what was wrong with me."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I laughted at that one too. Obviously, his parents couldn't have called him Jimmy.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostBravo. I LOL'd at #7. I don't mind losing seniors. Plenty of Freshmen and Sophs make big impacts in college basketball.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostSo you are not worried about next year at all? I actually agree with this too. I don't think there is another sport where young guys can make a bigger impact than basketball.Originally posted by Solon View PostI don't mind losing seniors. The amazing part is that they are winning the conference and contending for the conference crown with, according to some, overrated recruiting classes that are given a boost by recruiting services because the players are from Utah.Originally posted by RockyBalboa View PostIf JT comes back next season,,,BYU will be the favorite to win the MWC again.
I don't know how they continue to win...

You keep saying this but its not trueOriginally posted by cougjunkie View PostI agree, but not only are you losing seniors you are losing your 4 best players overall.
SR this year
Borha
Kepkay
Neville
Green
Clearly Neville is Utah's best player. However, Brown and Drca are 2 and 3. The improvement that Drca has made this year is fantastic. Yes DRCA played poorly in the @CSU and @byu games but his FT shooting % is phenomenal. Last year he missed the first of One and One more times than I care to remember. This year he has been nails. Does he still turn the ball over more than he should... Yes ... but for the most part he will be the best pg in the mwc next year.
Brown has NBA game except for the shooting. If he can come back next year able to make 3s he will be MWC player of the year.
Now we have Washburn, Foster and Tillie and Mead in the Front court. We won't see a drop from Green. as for the backcourt if Tavita, Cyphers or henderson can make a mini leap they easily make up for the loss of Kepkay and borha. Its even plausible that those three can be better than borha and kepkay combined."Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. I think Bohra is your second best player. He guards well, shoots well, plays a nice floor game.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostYou keep saying this but its not true

This is where we disagree. Borha is your second best player right now in my opinion. Followed by Green and then Kepkay. Brown is the most exciting player because he is athletic, but he is not a good defender and cant shoot a lick.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostYou keep saying this but its not true

By the way Drca will not even be top 3 in MWC point guards next year. PGs coming back that are better than him:
Fredette
Trevon Willis
Dairese Gary
Then Drca.*Banned*

Sorry, but if Drca is one of your top 2 players right now.....that tells me your team will be in trouble next year.
He's had flashes here and there, hit some big shots from time to time, but he's been sporadic at best. He's not a point guard either.
They should have him at SG, and who knows...maybe they'll move him there next year if Chris Hines starts as a Redshirt Freshman.
And I hate to break it to you,,,,but Fredette will be the obvious front runner choice going into the season for MWC POY.Last edited by RockyBalboa; 03-03-2009, 09:40 AM.
