Not a spectacular stat line but there is some value there.
You do know that he has only drawn multiple charges in a game one time this year.

No I was not aware that charges were a stat that was kept. I will take your word for it though.

I remember quite a few charges, which is pretty great, since he really hasn't had an big role until Davies was suspended.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Was that the game in SD? I recall him playing well, in the short spurts he was in.

I will take that line for Magnusson in a heart beat. Heck, I would take that as his season average in a heartbeat! i would be shocked if he is even averaging one assist per game and more than 2 points.

On the season he is averaging 2.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and .4 assists per game. He also has almost as many turnovers as assists, he is shooting a red hot 42% from the floor and an amazing 7-22 from the 3 pt line. As well as 9-18 from the foul line.

The guy deserves every minute he gets. The best game of his life was Wofford. He finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

That .1 PPG average is probably the result of his recent outburst for 10 points.

                  • I personally like Logan and don't mind seeing him in small doses. Unlike some players (Anderson, Zylstra) he seems to know what he can and can't do. He rarely makes mental mistakes, plays good defense against generally bigger players, is a decent rebounder, and is often the Mark Madsen of sideline cheerers when Jimmer makes a big shot.

Jimmer is a Bentley, Jackson is a street racing Supra, Charles is a Ford F-150 Raptor, and Logan is 95 Silverado 4x4. He isn't pretty, leaks a little oil on the driveway, I don't trust him for long trips, but he does a good job of hauling stuff to the dump.

He is just BYU's own version of Robert Horry!

Exactly, he is what he is. He plays the role well. The issue was that he is being forced to try to do more than that. It is an absolute Jimmeracle that a team where 40% of the playing scholarship players are James Anderson, Logan Magnusson, Nick Martineau and Brock Zylstra made the Sweet 16 and might go farther.

Saying that I do hope Rose is able to leverage the success. I would not be opposed to both Martineau and Zylstra losing their scholies and BYU bringing in a JC PG, if Stillman White doesn't choose the BYU, and a JC Big - especially if Brandon Davies is going to be suspended for part or all of next year. It wouldn't bother me if both were unable to make it more than a year.

I think it will depend upon matchups. If the needs are someone willing to bang down low, it will be Logan. I don't have a problem how the staff used their personel last weekend. I was under the impression that the team played well and won more NCAA games over the weekend than they had in the last 20 years combined.

I can see that in lots of situations.

The White Michael Cooper needs to pick up his defensive intensity not to mention a couple dozen lbs. It's one thing to have Jimmer sluffing off his man but when the entire left side of the defense looks like Dick Clark, you are going to have some issues.
