Can I get technical definitions for the quarter and the half - does the quarter-Davies stay below a Bishop's radar?

Quarter Davies just a three month wait. Half Davies six months and if repeated puts you below the bar.

Majerus was like a chess master during that tourney. Rose's game plan against a bigger zags team was terrific. It will be interesting to see how the cougs mix things up against the gators.

I enjoyed the clip of dave rose from the Houston NC State final. That footage of Jimmy V always gets me. That was an amazing moment.

Mark Few called BYU's defense a "soft zone" but with Emery in there the team defense becomes surprisingly good. Hartsock also has a knack for getting a lot of blocks for a relatively unathletic guy.

I didn't get the soft zone comment either.

Hartsock gets so many blocks because he can't jump. Seriously. He doesn't bite on any head or pump fakes. This is also why he's such a good blocker from the back on the weak side.

The Cougs defense yesterday was terrific. Obviously most of the talk is about the incredible shooting, but several key steals and defensive stops were key to those scoring runs. If BYU keeps
Playing defense like that, they can definitely beat Florida.

I still can't figure out putting little John Stockton on Fredette. That's a complete mismatch. I didn't catch it, but did the guard who defended Fredette in the early minutes of that game get into foul trouble?

Jimmer is clearly playing better than anyone else in the tourney right now. But, the cougs role players are also playing better than anyone else in the tourney right now. That game's performance, against most teams in this tournament, would have resulted in a win - all pistons firing on both sides of the ball. Emery is a terrific defensive ball player.

The half time adjustments to the Gonzaga zone offense were excellent. I was really impressed with Few's zone offense and more impressed with Rose's adjustments to get steals by jumping passing lanes against that zone offense. It was a bit predictable.

My father had a stroke the night of the Gonzaga game. After being told by doctors to say our final goodbyes, he's held on strong and it appears we're no longer facing any life threatening brain injury. His communication and motor skills are drastically impaired, but he sees well and appears to understand most of what we say.

This evening was the first time that he was really quite alert and it resulted in him becoming very agitated, then angry, and then very sad as he struggled to speak and to understand where he is and why he's here. (We're at the UofU neuro critical care unit) My sibilngs and I are rotating shifts so at least one of us is with him at all times. Tonight when I showed up in my BYU shirt he lit up a bit, settled down, and tried to talk to me about the team. We really can't understand anything he says back to us other than "yes", "no", or "okay", but when I told him Jimmer had a great game and the team killed it he said "sweet".

I'd love to be able to somehow capture the replay off MMOD to put on a DVD so he could watch the game on the TV in his room. Is there any way to make that happen?

You could take a laptop into his room (most hospitals nowadays have public wifi). If that isn't an option, you could probably try a screen capture software like camtasia. I'm not certain how many frames per second, but it might work. Still, I think the best bet is to stream via laptop.

Sorry about your dad. Did he get tPA? Has his NIHSS improved?

Sorry to hear that man. Like doctorcoug said I'd try some sort of streaming content capture program. There are plenty out there. I have used some simple ones, to capture things like YouTube videos but I am not sure how well they'd do capturing something as long as a game.

Sorry about your father. I spent a lot of time in that exact unit last year with my dad. They have WiFi so internet shouldn't be a problem.

I'd be interested in hearing your opinion of that unit when your dad recovers.
