If only the Utes had hired Dana Altman instead of Jim Boylen.

Ah the go to response from wapiti. You are acting like in 2007 that Dana Altman was coaching at Oregon. I agree if Dana Altman is at Oregon he is an unrealistic candidate. However, in 2007 he wasn't that hot of a commodity as his previous 3 seasons were NCAA, NIT, and NCAA with no trips to the 2nd round.

Utah is a better job than Creighton. So how in the fuck is wanting Dana Altman such an unrealistic expectation in 2007. He was actually a guy that was talked about frequently, but Hill went after Boylen instead. He was a realistic candidate.

In those days why would any one who could get a job at Oregon consider Utah.

Was Altman a guy that could get a job at Oregon in 2007? Also, Oregon ended up with a good coach, but don't forget how big of a train wreck the Oregon coaching search was when Altman was hired. I think they tried to hire at least 10 other coaches before offering Altman.

Utah also wasn't in nearly as bad of shape in 2007 as it was when Larry K was hired. Maybe Altman wasn't an option in 2007, but he wasn't an unrealistic option.

The PAC-12 is an interesting league. ASU just blew UCLA out, a couple of days after UCLA convincingly beat Arizona at home.

Meanwhile, Arizona, on its own floor, blows USC out, who blew out Utah on the Utes' floor. Utah almost beat Arizona in Tucson. And Washington, whom Utah beat convincingly in Seattle, plays Oregon close in Eugene.

I was first wary of leaving the traditional Thurs/Sat schedule. However I am starting to like the Wednesday night games. Big road weekend for the Ducks, Artis out and going to the Bay where they have struggled since basketball was invented.

As I recall Altman was a definite possibility but he wanted a 10-year contract which made Dr Hill look elsewhere.

Since Oregon hasn't beaten Cal at Berkley or in Eugene in 4 years I'm going to give you your "swish!" before Saturday.

If I may revise my previous estimation, low end 8-10 with a season ending loss to Utah in SLC and me in tears, high end still 16-2.

I'd like to think last night was just one of those things to that happens, but it was really really really bad. At least we had both Brent Mushburger and Bill Walton on the call so the commentary was excellent!

Given the margin of victory, did the 'burger provide another in-depth cheesecake report on women in the audience?
