I agree he is a home run hire. Also, his experience with THEM may keep bigger names away from him if he is successful at Utah.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostBilly Gillispie would be a home run for Utah, IMO.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

I would like to officially thank LA Ute for his donations to the University of Utah. It is good people like you that making it possible to fire bad coaches like Jim Boylen.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostIf Hill decides a change is necessary he will make it. It's true. Without my annual Crimson Club donation the athletic dept. at Utah would go belly-up.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI would like to officially thank LA Ute for his donations to the University of Utah. Randy Bennett
St. Mary's Head coach Randy Bennett would be a great fit for the head coaching position. He already recruits California and the rest of Pac-10 country. He also has recruiting ties with Australia and Eastern Europe. Which both of those Utah has had some good players from and Boylen certainly has not went after those areas of the world to recruit. He would be a good fit for our program. He also has been to the sweet 16 last year and has rebuilt a St. Mary's program that was down in the dumps from when Bull Winkle was there head coach.

I'd happily take him. But wouldn't we be endlessly watching that YouTube of Alford calling Tavernari a name after one of last year's UNM-BYU games? Anyway, he's been very successful at UNM. I think the PAC2 is an attraction, but it may not be big enough to draw him away from a program with a solid tradition to one whose brand has been damaged by two straight unsuccessful coaches.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostHow about pilfering Steve Alford from UNM? SLC has got to be better than Albuquerque. Even with $60 million renovation the Pit is still a fire trap. Alford might want to move to the Pac12.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Too bad the WCC is such a crappy conference.Originally posted by ute basketball nut View PostSt. Mary's Head coach Randy Bennett would be a great fit for the head coaching position. Even thus downgraded, stronger than the WCC. Utah can win 18 games in the PAC12 and be seeded higher in the Dance than a 25-win BYU team in the WCC. Of course, winning 18 games seems a long ways away right now for the Utes....Originally posted by Surfah View PostTrue too.
