In all sincerity, I hope I do not come across that way. I'm just hopeful and excited about what PAC12 membership should be able to do for my beloved Utes.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

However you want. If you want to take BYU's zero Final Four appearances, no NBA player of impact in 30 years and inability to consistently recruit urban America, I suppose you could say BYU's ceiling is quite high.Originally posted by TheBYUGuy View PostHow is it measured? I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Louisville hasn't seemed to be helped much by joining the big east. I would contend they had more success in the MVC and CUSA than in the big east in both football and basketball. Coincidence maybe.

I continue to hope. I shall never stop hoping. Hope is never a bad thing. There is an advantage somewhere in being included at the major conference table and a reason that us Y fans want in as well. I see a bigger advantage in recruiting if the Y were to get in, A boost that I don't believe Utah will benefit from.

When Petrino was there they were on top in football. They had some really good teams under him before he left and did his 8 month tour in Hotlanta. Was it Kragthorpe that was hired after him? He killed everything he had built in that program.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostLouisville hasn't seemed to be helped much by joining the big east. I thought Louisville had actually competed fairly well in the Big East in hoops though. They have had a couple of good teams haven't they?"Take it to the Bank"

They have been fine in hoops. The sample size is small, but I would say they aren't any better in hoops than they were under Crum. Football could be a coincidence, which I mentioned. I just haven't seen a huge talent jump from them and would contend they had more talent in the day. But like I said the sampling is small with their time in the BE.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostWhen Petrino was there they were on top in football. Looks like assuming Howland is unavailable there will be plenty of head coaches to choose from. Oakland's coach, Drexel's coach, UCSB's coach, St. Mary's coach, maybe Montana's coach. Lots of good non-AQ coaches out there that will be looking to move up.When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Wrong. You're the one who keeps saying that so-and-so's "ceiling" is higher. I'm just wondering what in the world you're actually trying to say, or whether you even know what you're trying to say. Are you even capable of answering a simple question without resorting to the "I hate BYU" schtick that doesn't even answer the question? (Sadly, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this)Originally posted by Top Ute View PostHowever you want.

I've given plenty of answers. It's not my problem those who have hijacked this thread keep insisting otherwise.Originally posted by TheBYUGuy View PostWrong. There is no such term as non-AQ in Basketball. Every conference has a AQ.

We're not going to get Howland, but I'd love to get someone like him. And if JB doesn't make the Dance this season we will be looking at a new Utah coach in about April or May.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostLooks like assuming Howland is unavailable there will be plenty of head coaches to choose from.
