    Utah Bigtiming USU

What a crock. With one selfish decision, Utah is on the verge of destroying two rivalries. For what? a paycheck and some buffalo.

Aggie men's head coach Stew Morrill informed a media group during a conference call Tuesday morning that the Utes are no longer interested in coming to Logan. A contract between the schools expires after the 223rd meeting - tomorrow - between the schools. It would have been USU's turn to go to Salt Lake City next season, which Morrill was ready to do.

Poor Stew. The buffalo steaks are awesome though.

As opposed to an entire conference? Or Utah State's athletic program?

      Et tu, BYU

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'd be sad if BYU stopped playing USU in basketball. I'd be sad because at that point I would know that the wussification of BYU would be complete. (I never expect this to happen)

Playing USU at home or away is a always good game and is lots of fun. Hoops isn't the BCS. Dropping a game in Logan is not the worst thing that can happen in a season. In fact, I would say there are some seasons that losing an early difficult game in hostile territory is a fantastic growing experience for any team. IN addition the USU game always helps your RPI and in almost every year USU is a tourney team. I don't see how playing them in any venue is a negative TBH

Utah is afraid. Plain and simple.

Yes, tis true. We invited Nevada and Fresno into the MWC to replace us. Good point.

Who can blame the utes - you can pretty much pencil in a loss if they continue to go up to Logan.

Never happen because The Utah legislature will have something to say about this. All state schools have to fraternize with other state schools.

while hill runs around like a giddy schoolgirl, talking about 7-for-1s with BYU and discarding utah state, he forgets that even USC has off years and cannot put fans in seats, and it's the local rivalries that will pull in attendees.

does your average ute even know any Colorado fans he can exchange rivalry smack with? Does he even know the scores of the last four Utah-colorado games?

What's interesting here is that this has been the excuse used for not being able to get USU off the schedule in Football (or basketball) the last several years. If one school is able to just say "nah, we're done" then one has to ask the question...why not end it sooner? Especially given some of the recent home cookin Utah has had to deal with in logan.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Now USU's SOS will be REALLY bad.

I enjoyed the trips up to Logan, but I don't consider USU a rival, so whatever.
