Tried to watch some of ESPN's 26-hour marathon. Memphis and St Mary's had entertaining wins last night, and tonight SDSU upset Gonzaga on their home floor. Billy White had a career-high 32 points. Apparently Doug Gottlieb called them "this year's Butler".

As good as Billy White was, how bad was Elias Harris? That guy is supposed to be a first rounder.

BTW, NBAdraft.net has Jimmer going first round to the Lakers. Awesome.

SDSU looked really good. They are athletic and will get all over the boards. They do appear to be vulnerable to dribble penetration however as that Gray guy carved them up.

After watching quite a bit of the Tennessee game, I'm not sure if I've ever seen as obvious a case of nepotism - Bruce Pearl's kid is absolutely brutal. Probably couldn't crack the rotation of a good NAIA school, yet was playing meaningful minutes in a close game for one of the better teams in the SEC.

In other news, tOSU's Sullinger may be the best big man in the country already. Reminds me of a more athletic version of Kevin Love.

I haven't seen Pearl's kid play, but Saul Smith comes to mind.

Definitely - he was hard to watch.

Saul couldn't shoot worth dick and didn't distribute the ball well enough to get the PT he did.

Yes they did. It still blows my mind that Leonard was passed over by pretty much everyone and ended up at SDSU.

The Collinsworth brothers will be critical to a victory over SDSU. We will need to play zone against them (which has been very effective in the past) and rebound well defensively out of that zone. To do that you need rebounders who can snatch balls out of their area and guys who have size but also have the skills to play a smaller position. Both Collinsworths will help in those areas.

I was just talking to someone about this exact thing. Chris will be a huge key to beating them. SDSU is very athletic however they lack perimeter shooters as well as perimeter defenders. Jimmer will get in the lane at will against them and if they put DJ gay on him he will shoot right over the top of him.

If we can keep them off the boards specifically the offensive glass I think we beat them.

It still amazes me that we didn't get killed by SDSU's off rebounding last year while KSU's and Florida's big men destroyed us with us offensive boards. Billy White looked disinterested last year against BYU as well, guy is somewhat of a headcase.

SDSU has a three point shooter this year

it is going to be much tougher to Zone SDSU with Rahon. If he is on, SDSU is going to be tough to defend.
