BTW, even in HS he didn't guard the other team's quickest guard. When West beat Provo in the state finals (which I was) Corbin was abusing KC and they had to switch off and let a different guy try and stay in front of him. Corbin didn't even have a left (other than to shoot a jumper after one bounce) and he couldn't stay in front of him.

When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Zylstra showed signs at the beginning of the season that he could be counted on to knock down shots and be a valuable backup. I think he's been exposed as the competition stiffened up. We just have better options. Rose has been tightening down his rotation more and more. Zylstra's probably going to be squeezed out.

          ha.

this thread was a total airball.

I put this in the same category as K-Dog's predictions about UCLAs inside game vs our awesome zone.

I thought this was to be a thread on Brock "Simple Jack" Zylstra. I cannot stand this guy. He plays out of control and constantly loses his man in transiion defense. He had one 1/2 of one game where he scored some points by knocking down a couple threes. "Uh OH!!!! Dapper Dandy BABY!!!!" The dude is a dog's breakfast.

To say that he is close to Abouo is a joke. Offensively both have done jack shit but at least Abouo is nails when it comes to defense. I do not see Simple Jack Zystra doing much in this program and again, I doubt he will be on the team next year.

I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be again. Brock has disappointed but not through lack of effort or athleticism. I agree with the above comment that his hoops IQ appears lacking. I'm not willing to write him off yet but he isn't playing good ball right now.

DDD, on the subject of UCLA's inside game against our zone. We didn't play the zone very much. It was effective in streaks but we actually seemed to have problems dealing with Smith when we weren't in the zone and everyone else when we were. I don't think I missed by much there. BTW, we didn't lose that game on defense, we lost it on turnovers.

Abuou, <sigh>. I don't know what's wrong with him but I think he is rushing his offense.

Who knows, maybe Brock will help me out on this prediction. I wouldn't mind being too early. I keep hearing from our B-ball types that Brock is constantly improving.

I don't think he ever will help you, but I'd love to be wrong.

Looks like he's our starting point guard. Rose continues to show he's an outside-the-box thinker with this move. I guess we pray Carlino doesn't get hurt.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I'm happy for BZ. I didn't watch every game, or as closely as a lot of you, but from the games I watched I thought he was far to maligned on here and was being made the escape goat for a lot of this teams problems.

Way to go Z, you made the layup that Marty Haws couldn't make against Clemson!

I move that "Zylchstra" be retired forever.

I've felt both ways Big Z (I've never cared for the Zylchstra tag). I don't enjoy watching him play. I constantly scream for him to give up the ball on the break or to not shoot. He reminds me of Logan Magnussen (whom I really liked) with a Carlino-like shooter's mentality. With all that said, he always plays hard, never seems to sulk when he is not playing, seems like a nice young man both on and off the court, and is actually quite funny on twitter.

I hope many will follow PAC's example and not only view this season as a success, regardless of tomorrow's results, but will also realize a big part of why BYU won last night was BZ (he played great defense, helped Brandon control the boards, and hit two huge shots).
