Am I the only one who would be surprised if BYU does not land Dastrup? This kid has BYU written all over him.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

There was more going on with Jabari than just his offer list that made him less likely to attend BYU than Dastrup.Originally posted by The_Douger View PostI think you're the exception here. I see it playing out like Jabari.

Kids that draw out the process don't seem to choose us at the end, is more what I'm referring to.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostThere was more going on with Jabari than just his offer list that made him less likely to attend BYU than Dastrup.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him at BYU, but history hasn't been real kind to us with regards to kids that approach the process as he has. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

How does the process usually play out with kids raised in LDS communities whose parents both went to BYU and whose dad posts on BYU sports message boards?

Good to know. Sounds like a fun time. I think I'll try to make it either Friday or Saturday.Originally posted by jay santos View PostYes, my boy's team is playing and has played last couple years. I am glad you are so sure. I grew up in an LDS community and I post on BYU sports message boards, and if my kid was a high end basketball player who had an offer to Kansas, he may very well go to Kansas. Then again, I may just be a stringpulling pussy, as you've said.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostHow does the process usually play out with kids raised in LDS communities whose parents both went to BYU and whose dad posts on BYU sports message boards?

I might be wrong but I still think you haven't answered the question. How many kids with a background and family situation similar to Dastrup's have told BYU no? The only ones I can think of are Burgess, Mark Madsen, Coach Pope, the Christenson kid who went to Duke and perhaps the youngest Pollard - all of whom were recruited to BYU when the program was not as fundamentally sound as today and with a HC who was not as charismatic as Rose. In fact Rose even later landed Burgess' younger brother. This recruit has many more parallels to Michael Smith, Bigelow, David Burgess, Plaisted and Cummard than he does to Jabari Parker.Originally posted by The_Douger View PostI am glad you are so sure. Yes, many of you become stringpulling pussies in an effort to look either non-sheepish open minded or to brace yourselves for dissapointment. In any case it is unbecoming of a culture with the Martin and Willi handcart pioneers as its forbears.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

My hell people, the desert is blooming as a rose! We made a civilization out of a place the Donner Party passed on only to end up eating each other in the Sierra Nevada (cr33k should be happy with that). We send young boys and girls out and they bring people from all walks of life to believe in the most fantastic of stories. Our forefathers had multiple wives! Multiple wives for hell's sake! Steve Young talked about his magic underwear on national freakin television!
Pussies don't go there.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yeah, yeah, we know. Pussies doubt Mitt Romney would beat Obama. And pussies worried if BYU would get passed over for the Big 12.

No, they doubt in the face of overwhelming evidence. They go into full meltdown mode when the odds are long, like against the Pony Express in the Holiday Bowl. They need to become believers like Jimmie MacOriginally posted by jay santos View PostYeah, yeah, we know. Pussies doubt Mitt Romney would beat Obama.
