BYU is a 6 seed and will play in Portland against the winner of the Texas/NC State 11 seed play-in game.

I posted this in the second half of the Cincinnati game. I almost hedged with "barring a miracle transformation in defensive and rebounding intensity", but really didn't think that was possible so I left it out. The team has proven me wrong. Starting with the Tech game, they have had their best prolonged defensive stretch of the season. The defense has been such garbage the entire year, I don't know if there is even another prolonged stretch to compare it to. I don't know what goes on at practice much less behind the scenes, but I was frustrated all year that when we ran into issues with first half deficits or the losing streak, everyone including KY only talked about finding more scoring options. I am relieved that either (1) the coaches pivoted and finally started focusing heavily on getting stops and rebounds or (2) they had been focusing on it all along and they just found the key to unlock the team's effort in those areas.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View Post
I thought it was 50/50 whether we won another game this season after that last road trip. With the transformed team effort and the favorable draw I now think it is 50/50 we get to the second weekend of the tourney. And when you have players like AJ and Rob, crazy runs can happen if other stars align. BYU is the 6 seed no one wants to face.
The above being said, Rob drives me nuts in key moments and I will not be too disappointed when he walks for more money.Comment
