The UNC game is entertaining, including AJ's very nasty slam moments ago. BYU up 37-31.

Really fun game to watch, even though Saunders was ice cold. Great to see Keita get that defensive stop at the end to seal it.

Pretty intense for a game that didn't matter. BYU was terrible from outside the arc. Richie missing two FTs at the end capped an off night for him. Villanova will be interesting.

This was my first time watching this team in action as I didn't catch the first exhibition game. That game Coach Young was experimenting more and this game was supposed to mimic how he will do rotations in a real game. A few notes:
          • It's nice to see that we can be competitive and win against a good team when our 3 point shooting sucks.
          • I really don't want to see Saunders become strictly a 3 point shooter. It helps to make him a complete player, but he is so much more than that. I said at the end of last season that his stats would suffer this season and that may hurt his draft prospect as well, especially if he plays like this.
          • AJ really does look like a complete player. He led BYU is scoring and blocks and he can bring the ball up the court. FT shooting is smooth. I love the mid range shot. Just add in some 3 point range and what else can we ask for?
          • I'm not expecting 16 points out of Keita every game, but if he can consistently play close to how he did here that will be a much needed senior presence.
          • While Wright III is listed as 6'1 but he looks much smaller. While he was good down the stretch, too many times he tried to take on two tall defenders and missed. He's super quick, he just needs to be smarter.
          • Mboup looked really good. I would like to see him get some of Boskovic's minutes.
          • At times our defense looked really good, but at other times it looked pretty bad.

Yeah their defense against Nebraska looked pretty weak.

Keba actually made a move to the basket. That was fun.
                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I know football is in a huge week, but it is opening night and I am excited! Except for staying up until midnight on a Monday night. Not that excited about that.

The two guys on Sleepers Media are both projecting a big win for BYU tonight, much bigger than the line.

What are they waiting for? Wasn't it supposed to be a 7:30 start?

The first game went long and by rule they have to have 30 minutes before the next game can start on the same court.

Does anyone else think the offense looks rather disjointed?

Also, Keita has got to learn not to pick up stupid fouls.
