Ahmed is coming in as a SO and I guess he will use all his eligibility at the D1 level. I am so touched by his change of heart and sudden love and appreciation for what a good solid education can do for his young life!
I hope he is cleared to play friday. This will be a good game to get him comfortable in the rotation.

    • Ahmed and Keita would be an awesome shot-blocking 1-2 weapon.

Another big for conference play would be great. I wonder how long it will take him to get meshed with the team on the fly.

His defense looks great. Seems to move well and anticipate drives to the lane. I wish we saw more rebounding as well (was there any??).

Wish I would have seen a lob or two. Rob Wright is going to be throwing those anytime Ahmed is in the game!

          • My son is a bartender at a local restaurant and he's the one customers have to talk to to get their game on one of the tvs. He said he had a guy walk in recently and ask for the BYU basketball game. My son said "oh are you Mormon?" and the guy said, "no, why?" Just a little anecdotal evidence that getting AJ and Rob is reaching the eyeballs people they never would have reached.

I was at a holiday party the other day with i'm guessing 99% non-Mormon attendance (you can't be sure). All of the guys talked about AJ and had watched at least highlights or parts of the games. Many guys also liked Ritchie, which likely is because they caught on last year during our tournament run. Those tots were doing a lot of heavy lifting.

One of the funniest posts I recall from our beloved late Non-Sequitar was about him at a bar. This was the early days of sports message board craze and he spent some time helping Zionslion and G-Man setting up TotalBlueSports. He was at this bar drinking expensive drinks and smoking a Cuban cigar. Feeling hungry he ordered a pizza and when it arrives the delivery boy was G-Man. He then says "We both lost some respect for the other that day."
