Cougars just getting destroyed on the offensive boards. Plus they missed, what, 11 free throws so far, including the front end of one and ones.

The very end of the first half anf the first 10 minutes of the second half was the best defensive effort I have seen all year. Now we need to extend that to the full game and get everyone besides Richie (who already knows) to understand that defense doesnt end when the shot goes up. Houston is an elite rebounding team and they are going to just win rebounds sometimes and thats OK. Buy the amount of times a Houston player grabbed a rebound by crashing between byu players standing flat footed looking up at the ball was infuriating. Boxing out doesn't take any elite skill. Its just effort and attention to detail which are the biggest things missing on this team.

There were flashes last night of a team who could approach what their original expectations were. But this is a real work in progress right now.
