Seemed to be more of an issue with him.

Richie was money at the free throw line in close games.

Man, our FT shooting sucked for the first half of the season, but for the last half it felt much, much improved. I can't think of a single game since the loss @ UU that BYU lost because of poor FT shooting. Up to that point, I would have bet my life that we would piss away 1-2 important conference games down the stretch because of poor FT shooting. Didn't happen.

        Agreed.

BTW, I was happy with the way BYU shot the FT at the end of the season.

True, but I'm still scarred. We went 12-21 against TTech. Ugh. And that uofutah loss.

I had a similar fear toward the end of the season and was happy it was never realized.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Since we're talking about FT's here, what are the chances Keba can figure out how to shoot a free throw? I couldn't decide if he was a liability at the end of games when BYU was in bonus and even double bonus territory, because he brings a lot to the table otherwise.

I believed Coach Young used the "offensive/defensive" substitution pattern quite frequently at the end of close games, so that would indicate that Keita was a liability at the end of games.

                • I told my friends---Keta just needs one additional skill. I don't care which one it is...better post moves, a mid-range jumper, or 75% FT%, but if he can figure it out, the sky is the limit for that guy.

Seems to have surprised most. Couldn't be a better advertisement for KY's program.

Not to mention the fact that Egor told Andy Katz that KY's ability to get him to the NBA was the primary reason he chose BYU. And then KY delivers him a lottery pick.
