Every team now knows that you beat BYU by bullying them. Don’t worry you will probably get away with more than is called and they can’t handle it at all…

BYU beats Colorado by 16 to get their first road victory. But is it just a testament to how bad Colorado is? The catalyst was Richie's play. He had a sequence where he had a 3P, a block, a steal, a layup. He was literally a one man show when no one else was stepping up. Catchings with another stupid two-hand push far away from the ball. Is that his idea of being aggressive? I actually really liked KY's subs. Make a stupid play and head to the bench. And at the risk of sounding like a sore winner, those refs were so biased. BYU easily wins by 20+ with better officiating.
Player of the Game goes to Richie Saunders, for the third time. He shot extremely well and doesn't rely just on his jumper. And 33 minutes with 0 TOs, that's stellar. Can you imagine if we could fuse Saunders' energy and smart play with Catching's athleticism? Saunders also had the best GSc. Demin got the best DRtg, but I'm not trusting any of those numbers. Five players ended up with the exact same DRtg number? Demin did have 4 steals and 2 blocks which was very nice. Baker had the best TS% and ORtg. I'm not expecting him to shoot that well every night, but look at the rest of his box score. He doesn't do much else.
Struggled to Perform goes to Dallin Hall, for the second time this season. He had the worst PER, GSc, ORtg, and DRtg (along with Baker). And Hall only didn't get the worst TS% because he only took 2 shots. Instead Demin got the worst TS%, but 57.1% is hardly terrible. Overall, we shot the ball very well tonight, except for Hall and Catchings. Hall obviously doesn't feel comfortable being a SG alongside Denim. It's too bad because he was really good at times last season.
BYU is now 12-6 (3-4) and #38 in Kenpom and was #46 in NET coming into today. Colorado is now #98 in Kenpom and was #92 in NET. This is a Q2 win. Up next is Cincinnati at home, who is 12-6 (2-5) and #44 in Kenpom and #39 in NET. This would currently be a Q2 game.

Last night Saunders was fun to watch. It seemed like Demin is improving. Statistically, I think he's ok but I'd like to see him get to the free throw line more. The guy has the skills to penetrate. Maybe he's lacking confidence at the moment because of his knee.
Dawson Baker keeps sneaking up on us.
Is Fous hurt?
Praying that Catchings starts to figure things out.

I was at the grocery store yesterday, and an employee said, "I like your hoodie." It was the stretch-y, and he said his nephew goes to BYU. "Great place to go to school," I said. "Do you know who Kanon Catchings is? he asked me. Anyway, his uncle was a really good dude, and like the rest of you, I hope Kanon figures it out. We saw some glimpses early. Even if he can come in and play solid D and grabs some boards, I'd be pretty happy until he gets it together offensively.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Yes, I would like to see Demin become more aggressive on the offense end. He needs to score more, or at least threaten to do so. He obviously can get to the basket. Praying for Catchings as well.Originally posted by Shaka View PostLast night Saunders was fun to watch. It seemed like Demin is improving. Liked the game result, but it was Colorado.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I swore i read earlier this week it was at 730 so my son and I showed up over an hour early. Will have to leave at halftime because he'll self destruct if we get home at midnight.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostI hope the ESPN scheduling and programming folks get hit by a truck.
