Of course Rose and BYU knew. But my questions is Indy, if you knew why didn't you tell me? Come on, man. Letting me twist in the wind all this time.

Oh yeah, very dumb on Loyd's part regarding the pot.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostSouth Jordan is basically an extension of Utah County.
Yeah, sounds like profiling to me. But it's sort of funny that Loyd would actually approach the officer and ask for directions after drinking and with pot in his car, though. How the hell do you get lost and not know how to get to I-15 when you're in South Jordan?

Because then someone accuses me of making crap up and/or throwing Loyd under the bus because I'm a blue-goggled defender of the faith.Originally posted by jay santos View PostOf course Rose and BYU knew. Was it something you knew because a lot of people knew? If just you and a couple of others knew, then it is plausible Rose didn't.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostThat's odd if Rose really didn't know anything about this because I did.

Of course he could be parsing words. He could mean he didn't know about 1 of the things that was brought out.
You haven't been put on the DOF list, if you would like I could add you.Last edited by byu71; 05-14-2010, 07:45 AM.

This whole thing is stupid. This was a lame story of Drew to run. He's gone. So what? Let it be.
Loyd is a dumbass though according to that cop story. Ask a cop for directions while you have pot in your car and you smell like weed?
If a white driver smelled of weed I am sure they would have run his plates too. Especially one dumb enough to approach them with the stench of dank. I think we're assuming a little too much there."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I don't know how many people knew, but I knew about this around a year ago. My source wasn't Coach Rose.Originally posted by byu71 View PostWas it something you knew because a lot of people knew? If just you and a couple of others knew, then it is plausible Rose didn't.

I might call you a blue-goggled defender but I wouldn't accuse you of making stuff up or throwing Loyd under the bus.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostBecause then someone accuses me of making crap up and/or throwing Loyd under the bus because I'm a blue-goggled defender of the faith.

I figured since it wasn't being reported when the news of Loyd leaving broke and because neither Rose nor Loyd made any discernible reference to it, there wasn't much use in talking about it.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI might call you a blue-goggled defender but I wouldn't accuse you of making stuff up or throwing Loyd under the bus.
At the bare minimum, it would have just caused SU to ratchet up his sanctimonious rhetoric to even more unbearable levels.

I think this officially wraps up the Loyd case. I'm betting this is the tip of the iceberg and Rose knew about all of it. He probably knew this was coming out soon and that BYU would kick him out.

Loyd needs some representation. We need the CUF big shots to step up and provide some pro bono. Get the charges dropped and force BYU to let him back in.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostHow were the cops able to hold him until a k-9 unit arrive after he passed a sobriety test?

Uh, he wasn't let go over these things. HC in good standing. Academics fine. Rose didn't know about this stuff. According to the police report obtained by The Tribune through a Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA) request, Loyd was just a few blocks from the South Jordan police station in southwest Salt Lake County in a gray Dodge Charger at around 5 a.m. on Jan. 4 when he waved down a police officer and asked for directions to Interstate 15.
The officer had previously noticed Loyd's vehicle parked along the side of the road and ran a check on his Nevada license plates. He discovered that the owner, Loyd, had two outstanding warrants for unpaid speeding tickets with the Provo Police Department.
While the first officer was checking to see if Provo police wanted to serve the warrants, a second officer arrived on the scene and said he smelled alcohol and marijuana.
A sobriety test determined that Loyd was not legally intoxicated, but a K-9 unit was brought in from Draper to sniff for the marijuana, and a small baggie containing a "green, leafy substance" was found in the center console.
Loyd is a frontrunner for the 2010 Darwin award.
I like how BYU outright lied and said it wasn't an Honor Code issue. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.
