After Keena Young left everyone said BYUs short run was over. Yet they still won.
Then Plaisted left early and BYU was done. Kept on winning.
Cummard leaves and we hear that they have no go to guy. What do they do? Break the school record for wins.
Now we will hear about how much they will suck after Jimmer leaves, but I guarantee you they continue to win.
Did anyone really say that BYU was in trouble by losing Plaisted?

I did, for one. On paper the Plaistead class was BYU's best recruiting class since Durrant-Roberts. I've been expecting BYU to hit a wall. It's only a matter of time. Fredette and Lloyd gave them a reprieve.

I've been around the block enough times to know better. I think the last time I said BYU was going to struggle because a certain player had finished his college career was Ty Detmer. Ground glass isn't particularly appetizing.Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."

Didn't they become more perimeter oriented, though. I also seem to recall posts this last season expressing concerns about BYU's bigs.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostYes, lack of post presence a lot of haters said that BYU would become to perimeter oriented.
Obviously, none of these things prevented the Cougs from taking 2nd place or from finally getting out of the first round the big dance.Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."

That's odd if Rose really didn't know anything about this because I did.Originally posted by hostile View PostMaybe some new info, although it doesn't appear to have been critical in Loyd's departure.

And you thought this kind of stuff only happened in Utah County. The story doesn't say whether or not Lloyd was in the car when the first officer "noticed his car parked on the side of the road and ran the plates". What reason did he have to run the plates initially? Because they were out of state? Was he parked illegally? Maybe the officer saw a black man with out of state plates and decided to run them? Who knows. But then the first officer gets backup (for a guy who came to HIM asking for directions mind you) and the second guy notices the smell of ETOH and marijuana? Kid passes the breathalyzer? Bring in the K-9 unit! Congrats South Jordan PD on the discovery of a small baggie containing a green, leafy substance. I wonder if a white driver would have had his (I'm guessing less than 1 oz judging by the fine) pot discovered at all. My guess is a white driver would have received directions to I-15.According to the police report obtained by The Tribune through a Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA) request, Loyd was just a few blocks from the South Jordan police station in southwest Salt Lake County in a gray Dodge Charger at around 5 a.m. on Jan. 4 when he waved down a police officer and asked for directions to Interstate 15.
The officer had previously noticed Loyd's vehicle parked along the side of the road and ran a check on his Nevada license plates. He discovered that the owner, Loyd, had two outstanding warrants for unpaid speeding tickets with the Provo Police Department.
While the first officer was checking to see if Provo police wanted to serve the warrants, a second officer arrived on the scene and said he smelled alcohol and marijuana.
A sobriety test determined that Loyd was not legally intoxicated, but a K-9 unit was brought in from Draper to sniff for the marijuana, and a small baggie containing a "green, leafy substance" was found in the center console.

Yeah, sounds like profiling to me. But it's sort of funny that Loyd would actually approach the officer and ask for directions after drinking and with pot in his car, though. How the hell do you get lost and not know how to get to I-15 when you're in South Jordan?
