Well, watching him single handedly lose at Laramie for ya'll and act like a dick while he did it probably informs my position. There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Harmon at least knows his target audience, so I really don't have a problem with him because he's not going to write anything that I'd be interested in writing.Originally posted by landpoke View PostDick Harmon, that's who I was thinking of.
Monson, OTH, thinks he's the greatest writer on the planet and believes that anyone who doesn't agree with his lousy writing is an ignorant buffoon. He also takes pride in his grudge-holding ability so down the road, should Boylen be gone, Monson will write a scathing column 2 or 3 years later."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Because Jimmer put up those pedestrian numbers (7pts 2ast in 18min) and didn't seek any attention for it. Henderson had an overall better year from a scoring standpoint (12pts 1ast in 28min) than did Jimmer and yes he was most certainly asked to do more than Jimmer was his freshman year but no one, yourself included, can dispute the "bust" label he brings upon himself by acting that way on such a poor team. If Utah's big men can figure out some low post moves he will most certainly improve in scoring and FG% but I doubt that 18 months from now we're talking about 49 pts he just dropped on Arizona. It's not fair to compare the two really but your puzzlement deserved to be addressed.Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostUtah had plenty of team cancer this year, but Marshall Henderson wasn't it.
The subject I remain puzzled by is what Marshall Henderson did to be a bust that was so much worse than what Jimmer Fredette did his freshman year, only Fredette wasn't in a position to have to carry the load."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

What do you mean? It is obvious to those who watched both play that Fredette was a much better player, but I don't know what you mean by bust. I just don't think Henderson is a type of player to build around. I think he is a role player, but likely a better offensive role player than Mike Rose was. I think that is a more appropriate comparison to a BYU player. Mike Rose.Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostUtah had plenty of team cancer this year, but Marshall Henderson wasn't it.

So Henderson sucks because you don't like the way he acts. As long as we're clear.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostBecause Jimmer put up those pedestrian numbers (7pts 2ast in 18min) and didn't seek any attention for it. I was there, you weren't. Even with the frog and the v-j out y'all were still in the game. Until Henderson "stepped up" that is.Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostThe Laramie game was over when Foster and Tillie. fouled out, how it unfolded after that is immaterial. There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. There are a lot of guys who don't suck that are also just not very good. Marshall is in that vast category!Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostSo Henderson sucks because you don't like the way he acts. As long as we're clear.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm not going to get into a Henderson pissing contest with you, it's evident that unless his teammates improve, he will not. Is that fair, no, but great players get better despite their teammates. With ony his freshman year to draw from, he got worse. Remember, you brought this comparison upon yourself.Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostSo Henderson sucks because you don't like the way he acts. Many things become reality to BYU fans when they are winning that just don't mix with reality. Like the current Fredette better than Andre Miller theory. I'm saying I look at the stats and then the team surrounding them and Fredette clearly did nothing more as a freshman.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostWhat do you mean? Kind of looks like he's coaching Ricky Rubio, maybe he'll bring him to Utah with him.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostPlus you'd get immense satisfaction at BYU fans most UNclever use of old nicknames. I'm sure he's learned more than a few things from big Rick in his time in St. Louis. He appears to be covering up a bad taco experience in this recent photo, an old Rick special.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
