I didn't get Boylen-mania from day one. He was an average candidate, and subsequently, has produced average results, as expected. We're getting what we paid for IMO.

Not to worry Crim, the U has that hiring genius, THE GOOD DOCTOR HILL, pulling the strings at the U of U athletic department. Have faith in his impeccable track record of hiring great hoop coaches.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Blaine Taylor looks like he would've been a good choice...

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it was/is/will be a desirble job for several reasons. Who turned us down last time? Larry Kristobiak (sp) (rumored candidae at Boise St., Mike Montgomery (now at Cal) who else?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I think that Boylen wants to build the program around a big guy. If Foster and Washburn don't develop offensively, it'll be someone else.

Henderson is a key part though. A guy who can stretch the D opens up the inside and allows for a wicked inside/out game, but you have to have the guy that can score inside for it to work.

That is a great scene in an awful chic flic. Very touching. I will hum it for you if it will make you feel better.

I believe he, Schoff, and Robison are walk-ons.

Cyphers seems to be so deep in the doghouse, I'd be shocked if he didn't go. I think Read is gone as well.

Looking at the roster, the only other one I can think of that may leave is Hines, seeing as that he didn't get much PT until the end, and we're bringing in a third PG in Guiot. Although he seems to be shooting well enough to play the 2.

Unless there some external factor such as family issues or home sickness, I'm not sure who else would look to leave.

I think he also ultimately wants to be able to play Foster at C and Washburn at PF, he just doesn't have the depth to do that right now.

There are also rumblings that one of the new guys might not qualify, which would open up a spot.

Who was the Idaho player of the year that committed and took an academic scholarship? Is he on a mission now?

Josh Fuller. Yeah, he's on his mission.

                      Thanks.

At some point, the 5/3 rule...or whatever it is would have to come into play for next season. Maybe that doesn't apply if people voluntarily leave your program vs. you kicking them to the curb ala Calapari.

re Henderson, I was making a joke playing off of junkie's comment. I feel ashamed to do this, it's like using TIC or smiley face, which is normally against my policy. Nothing in this post should be construed to convey any disrespect to Marshall.

Because the Utah job isn't a great job. Empty arena, huge fan expectations, short window to return to glory, low end of major-bball pay.

They need a Whittingham that understands Mormons and the connection to BYU. Sadly I don't think there is anyone that fits that bill in the basketball coaching world.

I suspect that Randy Rahe, Tommy Connor, Kerry Rupp, and the like would understand...how about....Dave Rice.
